See post 6 in this thread.

FYI I bought the HD version and ended up removing it. Added significant amount of glare to the screen. Not sure if I’m going to drop the money on the anti-glare version, found out through the process that cleaning the screen is really simple (spray with soapy water and wipe with microfiber towel)

Took some proper photos of idrive 8 with the screenprotech film on it. I had to re-apply due to my own fault, I somehow got a hair trapped underneath but amazing customer service they shipped me a replacement. I'd suggest getting two at checkout just incase it was only a few $ more but hindsight 20/20.

Did you guys find that’s it’s a tad smaller than it should be from edge? It looks to me like it needed to be a bit larger to not create the feeling of bezel around it

The screen is matte already. Is the screen protector glossy?

The HD version is glossy and will add to the glare. Didn’t see the anti glare version, so can’t speak to that in relation to the matte screen.

Will the screen protector interfere with the driving assistance pro package (the radar on the top middle of the gauge cluster part of the idrive8 screen?

I am following this thread as I eagerly await my 2024 M4 Convertible. I see mentions of the orange peel issue.

I have also determined ScreenProTech's solution as the best out there. Consequently, I proactively ordered the Screen Protector from ScreenProTech. Thru my research, I developed a contact at the company - Dalan Cole. He is responsible for their Screen Protector solutions.

From Dalan... We have never personally experienced that orange peel look on any of the local vehicles we have installed kits on. I am confident any imperfections will fade as the heat amplifies the film rejuvenation abilities.

If it you are having issues with their screen protector, please reach out to me and I can connect you directly with Dalan to see how he may be able to help.

For anyone reading this in the future, at least for the anti-glare one, yes it will. I had to remove mine.

Just curious if anyone has tried this? I may just order it, as it’s cheap enough, and hope it comes in intact. I don’t like the 2 piece versions, but, this looks like a one piece glass solution. Not sure it’ll reduce glare, though.

That’s what I expected. I honestly still have the film from the dealership on there and it doesn’t bother me at all.

Curious as to why?

Is everyone expecting to scratch up the screen (how unless cleaning it?)

Wondering if there’s other benefits of a protectant I haven’t considered.

For me just being neurotic I guess. Won't get scratches and also the plastic that was on there actually doens't attract many fingerprints, so it always looks quite clean.

What really defies logic to me is that you can use the iDrive controller to navigate the screen and never touch the screen. Also, the screen itself has an anti-fingerprint coating on it—-
unless you’re eating pizza in your car and touching the screen I don’t get putting a screen protector on it? Especially with liquid solution underneath.
It seems it’s going to do more harm than good especially when you remove it someday.

At least the two options for screen protectors come off quite easily and don't leave any residue. They're static/friction mounted to the screen more than with any adhesive, so it comes off quite easily.

Second, I do see quite a bit of fingerprints, even without doing anything silly like eating in the car. Most "anti fingerprint" coatings either are just straight up bad or rub off/fade quite quickly. I also hate using the iDrive controller and much prefer using a touchscreen.

I’ve had enough experience in my life, modifying things, and, regretting it. The cure is worse than the symptoms very often.

I generally avoid using the touchscreen. I find them to be a ridiculous addition to modern cars. The iDrive controller does everything you need very elegantly. I use one of those Swiffer dusters to clean dust off the screen every once in awhile. Fingerprints and scratches are therefore a non issue.

The main reason for a screen protector for me is my M4 is a convertible. Sun glare is more of an issue.

I am kind of same way. I barely touch the screen. Mostly idrive controller.
