That could explain the apparent lack of clarity of the G8x HK system, when technically is that the power to the mid/tweeters was reduced to less than half of the F3x HK system.
Wow i knew it something wrong…..that shit is stupid

Very interesting! Couple questions: are the mid/tweeters the same units as in previous models. And, at moderate volume levels, can the gain to to mid/tweeters be increased enough in the EQ settings to make up for the reduction in power?

coded the B&W last night after I had my 1200 mile break in service. It's nice but it was ok before I coded it. I don't listen to the radio as much as I used to and it was more important when I owned all of my 7 series cars. I was more relaxed and cruising more in those cars. Now that I own a M3, I want to concentrate more on the sound of the car and be more aware. Harmon Kardon for me is more than sufficient.

Coming from a Burmester system in an E63, this HK system sucks! Even the Bose system in my GMC truck sounds better.

Has anyone tried the mods from Bavsound or other G80 bmw specific offerings?

I added a stealth JL sub system to my old E46 to improve its low end. Made a huge impact.

The HK systems in bmws always have left me wanting more.

This has been my concern. There are times when I just love listening to good music, I've been in BMW's for a while, never had anything higher than a 5 series but the B&W system I currently have is really good. I just know the HK will be a step down. Hopefully I can live with it, or maybe find the right upgrades. Thanks

I agree. It's almost as if the under seat subs aren't connected. The bulk of the low frequencies, to the extent there are any, seem to be coming from the door speakers. We have a F15 X5 and a F22 2 Series, and the HK systems in those cars are noticeably better. The sound system is the only real disappointment with the G80. The car is otherwise fantastic.

How do I get this completed? I would love to try a software fix before hardware change out.

Is it as simple as an aftermarket programmer? I used a simple device for my 911 to turn off the airbag light. Or, is it changing the vehicle order?

You need bimmercode app and an OBD2 wireless module (slow). Or a OBD2 cable to RJ45 and an RJ45 to iphone (if iphone) to lightening adapter (super fast).

Or these two together.
