Freakin awesome man, happy for you.

My childhood neighbor pulled up with a brand spankin new 2001 LSB E46 M3 and from that day on I was in LOVE! The next damn month he bought ANOTHER ONE- this time a Phoenix Yellow E46 that he completely stripped out and turned into a track beast.

Fast forward 11yrs later and I acquired my first M- an E92 ZCP MT. I remember that day like it was yesterday.

Cherish the ride, drive safe and in good health. Welcome to the ///M-Power club!!

Cheers!
It was the avatar wasn't it? I realized I had spent the last 3.5 years posting here with a picture of my m340i grill as my avatar, so changing it was strange for me too lol

What did you think of the C8? Any comparison with the M3?

I was wondering if someone would ask the question

The C8 was interesting. I expected it to feel drastically different from the C7 (I mean, the engine is in a totally different location afterall), but surprisingly it just felt very "corvette-ish" and familiar. That can be a good thing or bad thing depending on your view on corvettes. But if you go in expecting a totally different experience, you won't get one.

It looks ferocious though, and it's loud, and you sit low to the ground, so overall it was fun. The interior, while a major improvement over the C7, doesn't even come remotely close to the fit and finish of the M3.

Ultimately they're very different cars. One's a luxury sports car, while the other is just a sports car. The M3 is significantly more dynamic - which I guess has always been its selling point - it's a track car that can perform daily driving duties in relative comfort. The corvette on the other hand will challenge your physical fitness every time you try to get in or out of the car.

I had my fun with the C8, but I was happy to get back into my G80.

Well done on the color combo 💪 those colors are timeless and yet still hard to come by.

I totally understand the lust of the E46 M3 when it came out. The flares, the power dome hood and that amazing motor!

My first M car, was my 2001 E46 M3 I bought new in 2001. I was 22 years old and remember paying 15K OVER MSRP! I didn't care at the time, because I was just in love with the car. I was coming off a 2001 330ci, which was nice, but the M3 was in a different world. These were the e46fanatics.com forum days if anyone remembers!
