I had a horrible time getting my Pixel 6 Pro to upload the update. My phone was so angry that I was connecting to a wifi connection that has no internet connection. I had to cut off the cellular data and it still kept stopping. One phone reboot and about 8 runs of reconnecting to the car wifi and about 40 minutes of data transfer while I had an Americano and read a book.

OTA updates are neat, but this process is, uh, not mature. Mostly I blame the Pixel. Last time I did this on an iPhone and it was much less annoying.

I’ve got my break in service set for Tues and wondering if I should push them to install the update.

I have 11/2022.31 but I haven’t seen anything drastically different from my previous version (11/2021). The dealer didn’t want to do it, but I brought up how I was having problems with CarPlay connectivity. My SA is the assistant service manager, so he tries to do things by the book, but he’s a solid guy, so he always tries to work with me.

Thanks. I’ve seen a few issues with slow CarPlay connections, so maybe it could help. I know the dealer needs a reason to do a software update, and they usually wont do it just for fun.

I began the process of updating this morning after the notification of its availability yesterday. During the upload to car portion the progress stalled at 55%. It was not until I started the car and left it running that upload progress finished. Its finishing the install process now, so nothing to report on the transmission changes I have heard about for a few months.

Took her out for a medium drive after update. So in the short drive it seems (keeping the placebo bias in perspective) like the shift between first and second is faster or harder depending on how you define it. I did not red line 2nd gear so no data there. I also think the sound subtly changed. The slight drone I get around 1700 to 2000 seems to be gone. Need more time in her to make sure.

In all seriousness it seems like there are some changes as described above, but nothing I could show that would please this court.

I thought the OTA software updates were only for the iDrive systems. With all these comments about shifting and engine tuning changes, so I supposed these updates are for the entire car software?

They can make changes to all kinds of things, on my X5 it made the anti-dazzle better after an update, it has made the lane centering function better, and has addressed other issues too.

Nothing in the My BMW app on your phone? I have a 21 and got it upgraded from 07/2021.50 to 07/2022.58 2 days ago.

My G82 is still on 07/2021.xx and the app says no update. However, my car has been parked and not driven since about Halloween. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

'21 6MT, drove with the update yesterday.

Seems to be a bit of a startup bark that wasn't there before.

My ambient lights coding is gone, will put it back when I come up with a new color to replace Boring Bronze with.

M Button settings reset.

I'm not sure if I'm imagining it, but I think Sport steering is a bit heavier than it was.

It did not reset the Drive Assistance Individual settings.

No idea what else it did.

I updated mine Friday, my remote start isn’t working anymore….the app says it’s climatizing the car but the car will not turn on like it would before. Anyone else with a similar issue? I’m in Michigan so I’m trying to get the heat to run.

Also my M buttons reset, my seat position wasn’t memorized anymore and it took some messing with auto off/on before I got it to stay off permanently when I go from preset M1 back to eco mode.

So i updated mine last night. I have a midpipe and exhaust seems a tad bit quieter for some reason. But i do notice a sort of “crack” or “fart” sound now while shifting under heavy load in S3. Sounds like my F90 sounded while shifting under heavy load. I kind of love it.

You need to go into your climate settings and agree to all their requirements again, in idrive

My new G80 was delivered on 11/2022.20 as it should have been.

Only issue I’ve had is my ID8 screen freaking out when I put it into reverse. It happened once.

Updated my ‘21 to 07/2022.58, the fake exhaust sounds inside are definitely a bit different. Not sure how it sounds outside , if any difference.
