They told me based on the flow of M4 they have from the start of G82 they see the car in my hands in best case early September and worse case late September.

So far all is happening around m4s as they tell me. M3 is mystery as they did not get any allocation for m3 about one year.

I keep going back and forth about doing full. It's unlikely that I'll see the ROI out of doing full PPF. I don't really plan on keeping the car longer than 2-3 years. So why am I paying extra to keep the car nice for the next guy? IDK?
I plan on doing full PPF when my car arrives, mainly just to make it easier to maintain and keeping it looking good while I own it.

PPF may add something to the amount you get when selling it, but you're probably in the 10-20% ROI range.

Do it for yourself, or not at all.

Frozen Deep Gray is Individual, it wouldn't be on that list. You need to have your CA request it.

Congrats! Which dealer did you use?

As mentioned earlier, your dealer will need to add FDG manually as it's an individual color.

Should be $3750 if you spec the 50th anniversary emblems. $4500 without.

The challenge with FDG is if you get a scratch or stone chip, they can't just do a local repair and match the paint. They'll need to paint everything visible from the location it was damaged. Also, you can't just use any soap to wash it. So full PPF gives you piece of mind and easier maintenance. That said, I agree it's very expensive. I wanted FDG but since it's no longer an option (F'n stupid!), I am looking at Dravit grey. I actually still might do a full wrap just to not have headaches and increase resale value.

Im getting m4 2023 and dealer also confirm that getting DFG is not possible. They told me they can try by using theirs channels but … when I moved to M4 which is more expensive then M3, 2023 models went also with price up I decided to not even think about it more. Changed DFG idea to Dravit Gray.

Dealer: BMW Loveland, Colorado.

I don't think FDG was an anniversary discounted color

Not 100% sure, but this is what my CA told me back in march on my M3 order.

Since there is no production number yet I can not put the color on the build. The $3750 difference between this build sheet is the cost of the paint if you would like to keep the 50yr emblems otherwise the paint cost is $4450.

It's a moot point for the M3 now as FDG is no longer available. I have FDG on my M4 order though...so we'll see what happens once I get an allocation.

Interesting. Mine says:
"SPECIAL ORDER: 490 - Frozen Dark Grey Metallic (P6N) $4,095 W. $4,500 r- 3/25/22 MCM".
No idea what that means

Mine is at port also. Wonder how long we will be at port for

No, I have the anniversary emblems listed.
I see on other threads people talking about the FDG not being listed as anniversary color.

Both the US and Canada BMW configurators show FDG as an option for the M3. Is that a bug, or have they reinstated that colour as an option?

Not seeing that here...

FDG is still listed for the M4.

Yeah I checked there too and even before MY2023 was announced, I didn't see FDG for M3 on the visualizer. I'll have to check with the dealer.

Has anyone else been able to order a 2023 BMW M3 in the Frozen Dark Grey Metallic color? My dealer is stating that they also don't see it on the BMW Visualizer and it's the indicator of whether an individual color is available or not. Is this correct?

Has anyone ordered Frozen Black instead? Any pictures or first impressions on this? It looks like it's order-able as an individual color. Thanks!

I'm thinking about ordering an M3 in the coming months so I asked the CA who I've worked with for a few years about FDG. At first, he said that after he made a call, he confirmed he could order FDG on the M3 but it would take 9 months. (This is United BMW in Roswell, GA, a high-volume dealer). However, 5 minutes later, he retracted that saying that no Individual colors could be ordered at all.

My first thought was, what is the point of the Individual program if you can't order it?!

Has anyone had a similar experience? Also, how does Frozen Pure Grey compare to FDG? They look similar in the configurator ...

FPG is much lighter. I've yet to hear of anyone getting FDG approved for a MY23 and it no longer appears on the Individual visualizer site which is a pretty good indication that it is not actually available.
