That is horrible. It is of course fixable without any permanent after-effects.
For whatever reason, the M3 gets a bit more attention than other cars (even more expensive ones). That can be both positive and negative attention. Since my G80 is not my daily, I can usually be a bit more careful about where I park, but recently I parked far away from all other cars. I mean dozens of spaces of gap from any other car. When I went back to my car, some horrible junky car was parked right next to it. I suspect they were just trying to have fun with me or wanted to check out the car, but clearly it got attention (maybe for no other reason than the fact I tried to park away from everyone). But it takes a real pathetic person to key someone's car especially when you have not done anything wrong by them. |

Was this the first time that person keys a car? Lol Honestly, that doesn’t look like a keying. It’s like what? An inch across? Where exactly is it? Something scraped it and I’ve actually had a jagged piece of metal fly up from the road and scrape the lower part of my passenger door in a similar manner a while back. No dent of impart, just a perfect crape of the paint like a slash. Also, are you sure someone wasn’t parked next to you and was just in a hurry due to rain and just scraped it with something on them or their car or whatever? I know you’re upset, but sometimes it’s not always what you think.

Honestly I hope you're correct, that would make me feel better. I was parked at the end of the parking lot next to a coworker far away from their car. I came in after them and left before. First time time driving it since detailing it before the weekend. |

Heavy wind and rain while it was out there? I ask because it looks like whatever hit it came in at an almost graze like angle, gouged paint deep from left to right or front to back and then skipped off with that last small jump in the paint scrape. Weird…. Any security cameras around you can ask to review footage from? Even if it’s not that side, at least you’d be able to see if anything or anyone was around the car.

That sucks. I remember someone saying that I drive a BMW to look cool. My response was I own an M3 because I enjoy driving it. In fact, when the latest generation was introduced, it was considered ugly. Ie, like this person, most people dont know what an M3 is other than some form of fancy BMW. Few people know I have a BMW because I put more miles on my 2008 Honda Pilot. I put mor miles on it because of stiff like this as I am too paranoid to park in crowded spaces. Driving around in 2008 Pilot should clearly indicate that I am not trying to look cool. I realize life is short and should try drive my M3 more but I do struggle with it. Driving around in old car is liberating butvshouldnt be necessary.
Maybe SwankPerfection is right but does feel like well kept BMWs are targeted. Tesla’s too for some reason. Not trying to into politics but owners earlier seemed to think it was ultra rights hating on libs. I always thought it was just jealous people. Last edited by Nicky_do_it; 01-24-2024 at 01:20 AM.. |

That's some BS, so will full PPF eliminate that from happening? Or would they just need to dig deeper with the key, never had PPF but when my car comes in I was thinking about it.
