I usually only keep cars for 3 years, and I am coming up on 2 with this one. I'll definitely wait till LCI, and I may order another M4 next year, but I am thinking of going to a G83. Otherwise, not sure, I still really enjoy my G82, especially the color.

We got a G81 AWD Comp Touring and it is easily the most all-round, capable, luxurious and high performance car we’ve had. My wife is switching out her Macan GTS for it and it will become her car and our family long-termer for hopefully the next 7+ years until we feel compelled to go electric. It’s a keeper.

I've had a lot of cars over the past 15 years, including most of the cars that enthusiasts say "you have to own one at least once" such as the 911, S2000, Miata, and Corvette. I've found something to like about each car that I've owned, and I've also learned something. In my view, my car ownership history has given me a good perspective on what I actually like and value. I am a much more informed buyer than I was 15 years ago. So when I bought my G82 6MT black sapphire over fiona red, it was a very deliberate purchase rather than an impulsive one. It was with a full understanding of what I want in a vehicle. Some of my previous car purchases were made with me just trying something out to see if I'd like it, but this one was made knowing what I wanted. You just know when something feels right. I'm completely satisfied. So I definitely foresee owning this car longer than I've ever owned any other car before it.

I’ve thought about selling it to get something I can bring my dog everywhere with. He’s a rottie and there’s just no way with the M4 unless you really DGAF about the car. Considered an X5 but I think I might keep the M4 and turn the Z4M into a dog car. Remove the passenger seat and build some custom dog seat bolted to the floor that we can hit the town in. I think that’s the play.
Here he is enjoying beach day:

I agree on new 911’s, but GT cars are extremely special, 997 GT3 is my favorite car ever….Air cooled 911’s are awesome as well. I will never understand someone buying a 992s / GTS / 4S for the $$$, when used GT cars exist for ~ the same $$$. Porsches are built to last go buy an old GT car, is always my advice. |

But at GT3 price point, my personal preference would be an exotic like a Lambo/Ferrari. But knowing me I am sure I’ll cycle through GT3 at some point as well. I just told myself that I gotta stick to my current cars for a couple of years at least before I start thinking about swapping again. Not quite sure if I will get rid of the M3 any time soon, but the next addition will be some type of an exotic so very possibly a GT3. I have been tempted by a 2016 purple GT3 with only 6k
Km’s near me listed for 250K for quite some time but keep controlling myself. Lol |

I went through a phase of buying a car every couple of years or so but right now I can't see me getting rid of my M3 anytime soon. My wife wants a new car now so that affects my decision too. Sometimes after I make a payment and then look at it sitting in the garage, I contemplate selling and then I go for a drive and kill that notion.

Next for me is as much GT3 I can afford, from any generation. However, I understand in 2025 that Porsche may be putting the naturally-aspirated GT3 engine in the 992.2 GTS, with a manual. If so, then I'd "settle" for a GTS. But the dealer markups will be insane on those too. Last edited by KevinGS; 01-20-2024 at 07:11 PM.. |

It very much is and to be honest i wouldnt be here if the GT4 didnt end up being a lemon. I honestly loved that car and everything that it offered. For me it was the perfect car. And while it was definitely more focused on the track side of things, it did the daily duties quite well surprisingly. Is the M4 a better daily? Yes it is by a long shot, but the GT4 was still quite amazing even as a daily. I miss that car so much.

I'd rather have a Cayman than a 911. I'd also have something Italian over any Porsche.
