Cupholder for cs/csl

Ok. The cs is bad ass. I really like it. But no cupholder is straight motard.
Anyone know how to fix this issue?
Ps i know it has the bottle holder in the door card but a cup holder adapter for the center console (even behind the armrest) would be sweet

I mean, part of me gets it, and part of me says waaaah my track-focused special edition M car doesn’t have cup holders. This is why we can’t have nice things from Munich. For the record, I recently spilled coffee in the CSL. I had a closed small Yeti in the rear tray of the armrest that tumbled. Just a few drops but yeah…

I don’t even bother with the cup holders. They’re pretty much useless. I have two of these; one always stays in the car clean. If I buy a drink I pour it into here. Other one stays inside the house to fill before leaving. Fits in the door cup holders perfect. I measure them and this is the largest diameter that seals well and doesn’t stick out much. I’m sure I looked like a nut job with my measuring tape at different stores lol

If you like the idea I can take a picture of how it fits tomorrow morning for you.

I think 3d printing something that fits in that armrest storage area is the best bet. Been thinking about this when my car arrives. Not having cup holder is so so stupid. Who needs a wireless charger vs cupholders

I put the felt strips that are sticky on one side around the inside the cupholder and little square on the bottle so it doesn’t rattle while I’m driving.

You could get a taller cup, but it might hit the door. You could get a skinnier bottle but then it’ll move around more. I drive 20k+ a year, little things like this make my day; I’m only a little nuts, but aren’t we all lol

It can be drank from like a normal cup, the inside lid unscrews but has a little lock that holds it in place and allows you to drink from any part with great flow as if it didn’t have a lid. It fully disassembles so it actually gets washed in a dishwasher.

I do the same except I prefer my Klean Kanteen over my Yeti bottles. For some reason my Yeti starts to smell funky after a day even after deep cleanings. I love my Yeti Tumbler though, but that doesn’t fit in the door compartment.

I’m not familiar with that brand. Does it have a similar lid design? Straw types are hard to clean =\

Mine are almost a year old and good. Idk. I do always leave it cracked open when empty and our house is on RO water.

Nothing beats the big boy tumblers lol I never drank enough water until I got one of those. I have the the 2 for $10 amazon knock offs though lol

They have more than a few interchangable lid designs. I like the chug cap.

My wife got me the 18oz Yeti bottle, in orange to match my KO interior

I like that it has a two-piece cap, so you can take off just the top and drink like a bottle, or take off the entire cap to turn it into a cup. It fits perfectly in the door pocket.

I have the 46oz version of this. Mine doesn't fit in the car, but I love it for camping and the gym (I drink tons of water).

The Yeti Rambler 30oz Travel Mug fits in the non-CS cupholders FYI.

The Klean Kanteen 18oz insulated bottle fits in the door pocket too.

i use this with my 36oz rambler. looks like they have one for 46oz too : https://www.etsy.com/listing/1100933...ter-system-for

it barely touches the cf cupholder cover, but it works and sturdy too even during fun drives.

For water, I'm a big fan of these 24oz bottles by Contigo. They don't get gross and you can clean the cap in the dishwasher. We've had some for years and they take a beating and keep drinks SUPER cold.

Plus, the "autoseal" trigger means it's practically leak proof all the time. It has a dust / dirt cap over the mouthpiece but you pull the autoseal trigger with your finger, drink, and then let go and it's sealed. It's slim, only the diameter of a soda can, so if you are ok on height, it fits in most door pockets.

Yup, I just try not to use my cupholders more often than necessary because it can interfere with shifting. The bottle in the door pocket covers both bases for me.

Never understood it. My 991.2 GT3 RS is a pure bred caged track car....has two pop out cup holders in the passenger dash, and a center console. BMW builds a 4 door family sedan that can hit the track and you lose the center console and cup holders lol it's dumb as hell. No where to stash my gun or coffee whilst headed to and from the track. It's barbaric I tell ya. M3 Comp it is. I feel for OP.

looks like we need Status Gruppe to make an updated version of their E46 CSL cup holder.

These days it's just easier to 3d print something probably. Just need to measure and design it. I'm going to have a go a it when my CS arrives. The carbon fiber and some alcantara would be nice, but I'll settle for just a cup holder to start.
