My M4 is at port waiting to be assigned to a vessel.
However, the VIN tool is showing the recalls for RAM. My dealership is showing in their website there 4 M3 and 2 M4 in transit. I believe this status is assigned when the car leaves the destination port, am I correct? Second point, all these cars still showing some kind of open recall. Few of them showing to "Check the RAM'. Others showing the exactly recall as my M4. Any of you know what is going on? |

I have a G80 M3 that arrived Port Hueneme 1/5 and was flagged with the audio module stop sale. Saw a list of cars slated for delivery to my dealer and not all G80s were impacted. No indication yet when the part will be available. Was told by dealer it's on back-order. Hopefully it doesn't sit at VDC for ages but based on what I'm reading here, it might be a while...
Any way to check part status outside of the recall portal? |

My M4 started production 9/22 and took about 2 weeks to build. I was originally build week 35 but got bumped 5 times to week 40. It was stuck in QC for 8 weeks before finally switching to in transit. Due to arrive in Baltimore on 1/11. I was told by genius and local m rep that it may have been in QC for that duration to have any missing parts installed but recall tool still shows RAM open. I have heard that all US cars have stop sales cleared at the VPC and it seems unlikely any US cars got them cleared in Germany. Hoping for RAM to get settled 2-3 weeks after it arrives in Baltimore but who knows?

I ordered my car in July and got my allocation in August. The car completed assembly on 10/14, spent two weeks in QC and then arrived at Baltimore on 11/24. It's been there ever since with the RAM issue. Sadly, there has been no clear rationale as to why some cars spend two weeks there and other have been there for over two months.

Grrrrr and Merlin - my tale of woe is similar in terms of timing…deposit in May, order to factory early July, built Oct 11, awaiting RAM at Bremerhaven since Oct 14.

The lack of reasoning or explanation is what is most frustrating. There are people who had their RAM installed within days of arriving at VPC and others who wait months?!
