Try living in Nor Cal with all the Tesla owners.
Every dweeb that never had a fast car now feels like their John Force.
I can’t drive the M or the GT3RS without a dam Tesla pulling a battery launch next to me.
I tried to get an answer why Tesla owners act like d-bags from one of them last week that pulled this stunt. I think I made him free dumb because he wanted to pull over and fight. LOL.

Agree with the OP. I’ve had mostly all positive reactions and thumbs up to my car but the ones that have been d-bags are usually those in other BMWs. And at that, it is more like the regular 335/330/325 crowd. They are usually the ones to be weaving in and out to catch up to me or trying to get me to race them. Usually don’t give them the time of day if they eventually catch up and pull up next to me at a light.

Absolutely everyone from shitbox Toyotas to pickups to… Kia minivans tries to get me to race them. Older BMW’s are always lurking but that’s kinda the car I expect to do that. That’s why they have that car. The 328, debadged, aftermarket muffler, dropped. It’s kinda the de facto racer boy with a little money go to car.

It honestly does get a little tiring, but I have learned to kinda deal with it by driving a little faster than I used to. That seems to have been the issue. Driving like a normal person (i.e the speed limit) caused more people to try me than anything else.

Driving normal in an M is apparently an affront to about 1/5 people on the road. They expect you to drive like you own the road and damn it, if you don’t they’ll show you how!

Everyone in SFL is trying to get one up on you regardless of the make or model, and they are texting while doing so. But I do get a lot of 335/340 revving past, you can spot them from a mile away. Lowered and loud backfiring exhaust. I like a nice exhaust burble sound but some take it to an extreme.

Also Tesla's...so many Tesla's thinking they are racers.

Where I am there are more Tesla's than anything else. It's one of the best ways to blend in on the road. Most Tesla drivers drive them like the commuter cars that they are. That's how I drive mine. I rarely accelerate hard. It's not that fun anymore so I only need to do that for traffic reasons. And if someone tries to go faster that's fine too because I can get behind them to get where I need to go. I don't get the stoplight wars. Driving for fun is on a backroad with no traffic, not stomping on the gas so I can get to the next light faster than the car next to me. That's just me. I understand the competitive drive to win at everything.

It’s weird, rt? I notice Porsche 911 drivers around here are always just cruising casually, minding their own business, not bothering others..just enjoying their car and no one bothers them. Yet, I try the same and I’m getting taikgated or cut off before I can get a mile down the road. Not saying my car is equal to a 911, It’s just strange the different reactions from other BMW drivers.

I also didn’t get any negative behavior. Mostly thumbs up and a picture however I do see guys try to show off by weaving in and out of lanes after they see me.

It’s as if they want to show me they might not have a nice car but they are F1 prospects.

Most of the “hate” I experience comes from people whose ego’s get bruised when I pass them, regardless of their car’s make/model. They’ll proceed to speed up and tailgate me once I get in front of them. But I don’t think it has to do with me driving an M car, they’re probably just insecure and do that to everyone.

Same here. You have to understand what you’re up against. I’m also not much for street racing, it’s too risky, as seen in previous threads on this very forum. And to add to it, I’ve seen too many IG Reels where these morons break their cars, or hurt others by hitting them with their cars. Power/speed is meant to be understood, not taken for granted just because someone has a fast car! As I always say, no shortage of stupid around here.

Appreciate all the stories here but the point of the thread was my annoyance with BMW on BMW hate. . We all know that other brands are always going to try n play. I just don’t get the BMW factor. If I owned a Porsche, I’m not going around trying to hassle other Porsche drivers.
