Just go drive your car like a real man and the brakes squealing will go away.

But seriously drive your car hard on the brakes and that will break-in brake pads…essentially right now there’s a glaze on the brake pads and then you have a glaze on your rotors all that needs to burn off. But not sure what you’re expecting.. it’s M car with six piston brakes from Brembo.

That doesn't work.

My car is still making squeaky sound after almost 26K miles... I am really tired of the noise and the brake dust.

I don't track my car so am seriously considering changing the brake pads (such as Carbotech). Any other suggestion is welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Was walking to the car after lunch and heard "squeeeeel" from behind me. What should pull up to the stop sign but an M8 Comp with steel brakes. Guess there's a reason the bulletin covers all M cars.

Where did you order your pads? I’ve been trying to order some but everywhere I looked they were on back order.

all temporary, as your brakes get used and dust particles get caught between pad and rotor and that’s where squeal comes from (at least on stock pads)

When you power wash you temporarily get rid of that, but it’ll come back after a few drives in my experience.

The brake screech on my car is unreal. 6k miles and my car screams like a banshee at every stop. So ******* embarrassing.

My car.. visually/engine sound, should be attracting the attention. Not the sound of someone running burned out breaks, screeching all over the place.

Also, the amount of breakdust is ******* unbelievable!!! What is exactly is going on the the breaks and pads this generation..

How often do you clean the brake dust off? I'm doing some planning for when I take delivery of my '24 in October and wonder if frequent cleaning is just something I'll need to mentally accept as part of ownership.

Its just easier to change the brake pads, ebc red's still have some dust so you still have to clean the wheels but its not the bronze color that the stock pads give off.

That's how brembos are. Very loud and very dusty brake, but some of the best on the market for stopping power from an OEM.

Plenty of options for low-dust/no-noise brake pads to choose from. Dynamic Friction, iSweep 1500s, EBC Redstuff, etc.

Makes sense. Did you go for the reds over the iSweep's for any specific reason or just a starting point that is better than OEM?

Cheaper and just as good, but the front pads are basically unicorns at this point, so I went with iSweep 1500s for the front, EBC reds for the back.

I was able to get my EBC red front pads in about 2 weeks from ECS tuning. Not that long of a wait

They were available locally and half the price.

Who cares what people think? Did you really buy this thing to "attract the attention" of strangers? Physics are physics. Performance brakes squeak and give off tons of dust, it is what it is.

I think that I'm suffering from something else than what I have read in this thread. I still haven't checked it thorowly but I heard twice, already (got the car last Thursday and mostly hear music), while breaking from 3 MPH to a stop there's an annoying very short squeel.
Has anyone noticed such behavior?
Thanks

Anyone who still has this issue in warranty on original pads I recommend taking a video and going to the dealer.

I had this issue on my m240 2018 and they put new pads on after I showed them how bad they were in the video. It was bad and the new pads fixed the issue. Could have been improper break in but nothing could fix them without replacing. My new m3 2024 now has the same sound and I’ll be doing the same thing.
