Might have to take mine in too.
Before I took it in, I noticed the slow start occurred less often as ambient temperatures decreased. It would still do it. It would just have to sit longer before occurring.

Had an issue today where there car didn't start at all. Starter cranked and then stopped. iDrive presented the "Goodbye" screen.

Pressed the Start button again immediately after and the car fired up no problem.

I'm taking the car in this week, as I'm going on a trip this Saturday. I don't wanna risk anything.

Out of curiosity, I checked the fault code memory today. There were two entries:
  • 030E06 Power Management: Energy availability, consumer degradation active
  • 804081: Production readiness to drive: Faulty

That's really interesting. Mine stalled out once and then started just fine. But it has not thrown any error codes.

Have you received your car back from the dealer? Do you have any more info on what they exactly replaced? I'm calling my dealer's service department tomorrow.

I have not gotten it back yet. They replaced the IBM integrated supply Module on Monday.

However, I just got a note from the dealer. I guess the module didn't work because they are now replacing spark plugs and fuel injectors.

Jesus, thanks for the quick reply. Figure I'll take it in after my trip because I don't think they'll get anything done by Saturday.

I hope it's not a serious fault with our cars.

I hope it's not. I was supposed to go on a drive this weekend with CCA doesn't look like going that. We are approaching 3 weeks dealership has had it.

Out of curiosity how many miles did your car when you picked it up and which model do you have?

The reason I ask is my g83 had 60 when I picked it up from PCD and others on the forum thought BMW may have been trying fix a problem at the factory. I'm wondering if that's playing a part now.

I have a 23 G80 Comp xDrive.

The car now has around 3000 miles on it and it's been doing it ever since I've taken delivery.

Interestingly enough, the conditions under which this occurs are very similar to what you've described.

If I park the car at operating temperature and come back to it maybe an hour or two later, I get the issue.

However, cold starting after an entire night spent outside seems like no issue.

I will be picking car up today. The only additional thing they did was replace the oil again. Car is at 3k miles and break in was at 1200.

Thank you so much! So a leaky injector is what did it in the end?

Yep and fouled spark plug. Interesting that it happened from day 1.

Looks like they found the problem!

A leaky injector will foul a plug too!

Not sure if I am experiencing this issue as well. Most times car starts fine. There have been a couple times it slow starts. Once, I literally left dealer for something, went to lunch, then slow start-up. Ugh. Started fine yesterday evening. Car sat an hour, then a slow start. Dealer said to bring it in, but car is just over a month old and I haven't had time to get by there yet. Trying to get video evidence, but every time the phone is recording, it starts fine. Lol.

Hopefully the repair isn't too obtrusive and isn't a long process. I don't even have 500 miles on the car.

Today I took our vert in for a CEL (only 3000 miles) and was told its because of a faulty fuel level sensor. Hopefully this isn't a precursor to what you've been experiencing.

Luckily I did not have a faulty fuel sensor. It’s been running great since the beginning njector was replaced.

Does anyone know how long this takes? I dropped the car off 12/29 and it is 1/11 and they still do not have the injector. Does it come from Germany? Almost 2 weeks. Getting kind of anxious..

On my the found an injector at a dealership in PA to replace mine. Though they had the car 3 weeks before they figured out the issue.

Thanks! They have had it two weeks tomorrow. They say they are awaiting the injector to arrive. Can’t check status of car on the app, won’t refresh. Last update was 1/4. I hope it arrives soon. I imagine the work has been approved if the injector was ordered.

Did they ever explain why the injector(s) failed?

With mine, the fuel level sensor wasn't an individual part that could be ordered because its part of the fuel pump(?) I believe I was told. So far I've driven about 500 miles since and all is hunky-dory.

The fact that you mentioned that the car stalled once, I would say it’s the low pressure fuel pump. A YouTuber named what’s your forte, had a similar issue with his F90 M5, the dealer struggled to find the issue as well. But eventually they caught it and replaced the lpfp.

my b58 had the same issue last august, took 2 weeks to replace the fuel pump, did not get resolved. The dealership also messed up the tire pressure, so I never came back, they lost my trust. Issue was gone since temp went down after a couple of month. I think I probably will see it this spring and take it to another dealership.

I still remember I printed out several forum pages to show the dealership it could be a bad injector. They did not believe so and had a conversation.
