I am back in transit. With the boat docking on March 13, that was only 3 days at the port and VPC.

So the Asian Captain is moored at Port Newark at the vehicle delivery center. The BMW VDC is located about 4 miles across Newark Bay accessed by I78 - are they actually driving my car over the bay bridge on Interstate 78 or is it going on a carrier? I suppose its not mine yet, but its creepy thinking about some driver with his/her coffee cup polluting my car. Even if they detail it after.

At Port Hueneme, they drive them down the street to the VDC. I don’t worry about it - the car has been driven at the plant in Bayern, at the port of exit, at the port of arrival and again at the dealership.

By the time you get the car, it probably has been driven by a dozen people in grimy overalls with fatty fingers doing unspeakable things.

My boat (morning celesta) is due into Halifax in less then 5 hours. Does anyone know how long docking time roughly is till it’s heading to New York?

My status the past 2 and 1/2 weeks was in transit, today I just checked, it went back to "At the port" uhh, did BMW make a mistake and it didn't actually get on the boat?!?!

It returns to say “At the Port” when the car makes it to the port in the US.

On the low end, it could be less than a day. In the higher end, it looks like 2 days is fairly standard.

I know the “At the Port” reversal as it happened to my car last week.

I believe they install at the VDC at the final destination port.

Mine is still "In transit", which I find more worrisome. Should have been offloaded in NY.

The Asian Captain has unloaded all the New York bound cars. Crikey, I could have it by this weekend. The dealer is only about an hour from the VPC. Most likely next week some time, though. I guess I better order the oil cooler guard and mudflaps, etc.
