M5CS would probably be priced higher if it would come out today tough.

Yeah, good call out.
Which opens to another discussion: in this recent auction somebody got a 2200 miles M5 CS for $146k… not too far from a fully equipped M3 CS.

Who is your dealer if you dont mind me asking?

I’ve just put a deposit down with Sytner and they’ve said they don’t have any allocations as of yet but are confident in securing me a build due to purchase history.

Also wasn’t the f8x 3CS limited to 1200? That’s less than they plan to build for this car which is up to 2k…. So how could we only get 75 cars?

In the US, we got a bit over 600 F80 M3 CS and we're only getting about 360ish of the G80 CS (one per dealer)

Dealer is Berry. I wouldn't take their allocation and extrapolate that to whole of UK allocation but yeah - looks like these will be difficult to get hold of.

BMW Blog stating up to 2,000 cars built. Where are all these extra cars going then unless it’s incorrect? 😅

My dealer has said they already have 6 people on the waiting list, just alone for individual dealer not group, so I guess your right in terms of getting hold of one.

They said the way the process works in U.K is that they send an email across to BMW UK regarding customer and previous bmw car history and individually pick the customer essentially. Not sure how true this is.

But every dealer/group I’ve called all seems to be saying same thing. However, I saw a guy on cutters who said he put his deposit down two weeks ago and already has an allocation for late April!

Yep. They had the same process for the M4 CSL. Dealer submits application to BMW UK on your behalf and then you wait on tenterhooks to find out if you made the cut. However, the dealership won't bother to submit an application if you have no chance of getting one and that guy you heard about would probably be one of the very first to get an allocation as the process takes some time. Having said that the dealerships will know how many cars they will be allowed and most of them will have made submissions on behalf of their customers already (I'd have thought). Car history isn't just BMW though, full car history is taken into account (from what I've been told in the past). Luckily for me, I've had a few M cars!

Have you got a deposit down for one also?

If so how long ago?

I just put mine down couple of days ago, only coming from an M4 CS but also a history of 11 BMW’s in 10 years all which were paid for, still currently owning the CS for 5 years and 4 others. My dealer seems to say I’ll have a good chance but let’s see. They managed to pull 3 CSL’s alone in their dealership.

So you reckon dealers are taking deposits and not even submitting your request? 😮

I asked about the other 6 who have deposits down, they said one bloke had and m2cs, 3CS and now also a 5cs so he’s quite nailed on to get one, and the other 5 have next to no car history, so he’s hopeful he can pull me one. We’ll see though

Good luck - I pick up my M4 CSL in a couple of weeks but asked about the M3 CS late in the day - think I have no chance now. I think there's way more interest in the CS than the CSL and the UK allocation probably isn't significantly more.

Sounds like your dealer is looking after you, so you should be OK as long as they get 2 or more. Your car history is good. The good news is that at least you have a shot at getting one, unlike Porsche GT product, where you need to be spending mega bucks at the dealership to get one.

ETA - don't think dealers are taking deposits and not submitting applications, rather if you have no chance, they'll tell you. If you insist, then I think they will still submit your application (and eventually return your deposit).

Appreciate the stance for luck. I’m gonna need it I think considering how late I am! But only hope I have is that all dealers/groups seem to be saying no allocations handed out yet…

Which dealer did you acquire the CSL from?

When you initially put down a deposit of interest on CSL how long till you got a confirmation on build?

Had to look it up! November 2021 deposit placed, June 2022 confirmation of allocation, but I'd been asking about it for years. Been lurking on this site since about 2015 and in 2016 saw yngldn's post on upcoming BMWs - he called everything right.

Interesting difference in the process. For the CSL, the US got 250 cars. They were then assigned to dealers. Dealers got one and not every dealer got one.

Wow - they're gonna be ultra rare in the US then. Even here they're rare.

But where are all the extra cars going if there’s actually gonna be around 2,000? 🤔

I just feel with the CS they’ve made it rare but not as rare as as CSL of course, so if there’s higher demand for CS and they have capacity to produce on the line, why would BMW turn away an extra 2/300 cars or so? At this price point with no discounts that is £26M to £35M, just wouldn’t make business sense to say no to that. And if their total capacity is up to 2,000 and they can sell, they will.

Won’t be surprised if there’s further allocations out later during the year if they have enough demand, it is a one year production run after all.

So far US got 3/400, UK 75 (rumoured), Germany 100, how many more to whole of europe? Canada ? AUS? Far East? It just seems that there’s a lot of cars left over? Considering US is largest market. This is based on the assumption they actually make 2k in total which is more then f8x 3CS.

This is assuming their news article has the right information and we very well know the credibility of most journals. We have reliable sources in the forum (from US market) and the information they share is spot on.

I placed my order for the CS last week, confirmed this week for a June build. I don't think it's too late. I have a pretty significant purchase history though.

Gives me hope.

Which dealer and group? Did they advise you on how process works for submitting your order?

I’ve placed an order with sytner but another group told me they’re getting 3 in total and have sold 2, but they will ask sales manager on Monday if I can have the third car which is also due may/June..

This completely goes against the process where dealers say orders are sent to Bmw uk who then choose customer…. they already seem to know they have 3 cars and sold 2 of them?? Lots of conflicting info between dealer groups!

I think the dealers are choosing the customers, not the corporate head office.
