How is the roof tasteless? It’s a piece of carbon fiber.

Are you perhaps looking for the word “hood”?

Thanks for posting those.

The G80 is one of those designs that I have to wait and see in person to judge. I want to buy this car and I've been ready for over a year if it were available, but I'm not used to saying "I'll wait to see it in person" when it comes to an M3!

Ok, so the raised bead on the G80 is tasteless but the step on the F80 is great. Got it. Personally, I was going to buy one, but I’m totally put off by the color of the driveshaft. Absolute shit!

I’m messing with you. But I do think that it’s possible to let your emotions get the better of you. I can confidently says that the crowd here is well above average intelligence, but perhaps below average impulse control and emotion regulation. Oh well, can’t have it all.

I don't even care about the grills anymore (still don't like them). I find the hood more offensive! Should have stuck with some cleaner lines on it and kept the power dome.

G8x are good looking cars overall. Whoever buy one will not regret I believe.

If someone is going to buy one, they obviously don't mind the looks so I doubt they will regret it.

I'm confused by how come you can see the lines/double bubble (if you can call it that) on the roof from the rear but not from the front??

I want to hate it but I like it. The M4 doesn't do it for me. The 4-series looks off. Almost stretched and without the right proportions but the M3 looks very good aside from getting used to the new front grill design.

The sedan looks fine past the grille. The M4 is a problem however.

Actual functional aero vs the "because racecar"
Double bubble?

I like them both. I also see a lot saying they hate it and now saying they like it. however there is still a divide. Def excited to see more and also hear more about performance etc..

F8X is still a great looking car, but clearly looks dated next to the G8X. IMHO.

Can't wait to get one.

I want to like it but I just don't. The grille is a huge issue obviously. The rear diffuser is too square, exhaust tips look comically large, and the side profile lacks any flow, it's just all angles and dents.

I'm impressed with the new design. This comparison is good- for me the F8x M3 and M4 were stylish and I embrace the previous look- I've had a 325, a 135, a 1M, and an M2, and currently drive an M5- but I find the aggressive design refreshing- not ugly or offensive. Looking forward to a test drive. Will be checking with my dealer to see when an HEA car is due in.
