This looks decent. I really like this car.

Big grill growing on me. The more I look at f80 the more dated it looks

Exactly! Every generation had its changes, but every of them had a „wow & nice" effect from the beginning, which until now is not the case at all with the leaks and renders I've seen so far...
For me to buy a car, it needs to have this wow effect from the first time I see it, not to grow on me in 1,2 years

And there never has been so much defending from BMW about their design decisions as it is now...maybe people wanted some difference, but not in that ugly way...

I had the Vtec sub 4WS that was the "top" model in the usa. I was not concerned with 4 wheel steering at the time and wanted cloth seats so I went Si.... loved that car, so fun and simple. I joke to this day i wished I had bought two and left one for simple maintenace in a garage... loved it. SO rarely see that generation anymore in NJ USA here. The other day on a hill pass I saw one... must have been the first in a year
Man you're not kidding I had my 92 Si 4WS for a little over a decade. I thought that was going to be with me forever then my brother borrowed it and totaled it. I miss that car the 4WS sub 30 mph was a thing of beauty.

New design is not my cup of tea! Of course people will buy it and most likely enjoy it. Who else is going with C8 or C8 Z06 instead?

I keep telling myself it can't possibly be this ugly in real life. Really can't wait for the reveal.

Good thing that rear diffuser is only an internet rendering.
Actually it's much more than that. Did you miss the leaked photo that shows this very diffuser? Check out page one of this thread.

It may not be the final production version, but there is a high probability that this is how the diffuser will look.

All they have to do is copy what Pontiac did with their Grand Am and Grand Prix! Those were rad!

The M3 / M4 redesign is the most polarizing topic after xDrive vs RWD, run flat tires vs non run flat tires, and coilovers vs shocks-springs combinations.

I expect rear diffuser manufacturers to report higher revenues within 6 months of the new M3 / M4 launch.

Probably but here's a counter argument. I actually tend to believe that the majority of this comes from people, including myself, who realize that it is not an insignificant purchase, lease or otherwise. If I'm gonna be spending the cash for this car, including all the repair costs that inevitably will come, it damn well better be worth it. Aesthetics are a part of that.

The fact that bmw has not denied these painted diffusers tells me that it is probably the real design and not just an early prototype. That's a shame

It’s the roofline around the C pillar area as well. It’s very Mercedes C class, rounded and soft. Very unlike a BMW overall.

The M3 will be the ugly duckling this next gen. The M4 has half a chance depending on the front end looks.
