How to remove seat control cover on comfort seats
Anyone have access to the details on how to remove the seat control cover on the side of the comfort seats?
My passenger side has an obnoxious vibrating sound coming from behind it while at speed on the highway….driving me nuts! I spent the past 2 months trying to find the vibrating noise until I pinpointed it to the cover. And when I say 2 months, I have removed my door card, inside door panel, glove box, other trim panels until I was able to repeatedly stop the noise by pressing on the side sear control cover. Any help is appreciated. |

Ha, I have a rattle that only happens on coarse road surfaces at speed.
And yes, I couldn’t locate the source until I leaned over and pressed the passenger seat control cover, and the noise stopped. I tried that because it never happened when someone was in the seat! It sure sounded like it was coming from the door card, as the sound bounced off the door. Trying to figure out how to remove the panel without breaking something. |

I think I have this exact noise, and am interested in how to properly remove these panels to solve it.

These were my failed attempts where the noise came back shortly after driving on my "test road". This test road always caused the vibration to come back: - removed side seat control cover, insulated all contact/attachment points with 1mm felt tape and reinstalled - microfiber towel wedged between seat and seat control cover - unclipped the all leather from the entire outside edge of the seat frame, insulated it with 2 layers of electrical tape and reattached - removed the 2 rear-most fan covers for the ventilated seats - removed the sub cover under the seat I really thought I was going to lose my mind and as silly as it sounds it made me not enjoy driving the car. But happy to report my next attempt was successful and there has been no droning vibration over any surfaces since. For me, the culprit was the module I circled in the pic below. I noticed the module does not clip all the way into place and had play to move around. I wedged a piece of felt tape under it and all good now. Hope this helps you or someone else...I'm back to loving my M |

I'm going to give that a try, thank you for saving so much trial and error for many!
