Lead time on website said 2-3 weeks but ended up being 8 weeks. Wasn’t aware there was an additional duty fee of $100. Recommend having an acknowledge button advising customers. Lastly sent two of the same side for the lip I bought. Of course discovered issue after I took old lip off, installed passenger side then went to install driver side and realized they gave me two of the same part for passenger side. Damaged my ppf taking off as well. Had to go back and forth with customer service despite sending picture of wrong part multiple times. Response was basically we’ll contact vendor. Asked for status a few days later and they said “hopefully” this week but, haven’t heard anything. No urgency to correct issue. Not a good experience.

Thanks for the heads up, I was looking at some of their carbon fiber parts. I will look at another vendor instead.

I had a great experience with R44. Ordered my G83 spoiler from them and came quickly with DHL. They were also quite responsive to PMs on here and gave a shipping/item discount for US people.

Problem with company reviews are you're going to always have a vocal minority complaining.

Look at the situation here. You had 3-4 different people who all had good experiences with a redone G83 spoiler in the other thread, but one person here (you) who hasn't had a great experience, and we're only hearing it from you.

I think it's important to understand that there's people just like you working a job on the other end and sometimes things happen, people take vacation or get sick.

I remember Zach telling us that these spoiler orders were pre-orders and not ready for immediate shipping, so it took 2-3 weeks for them to come to us (once they were fabbed shipping was quick). Perhaps if they'd just updated their site to show a more conservative shipping estimate, people wouldn't expect too much or be more informed.

Not saying it's your fault, but I also don't think they're actively trying to steal your money here or anything. R44 has a pretty good reputation so I'm sure they'll make it right.

Understand mistakes happen but typically a company will try to expeditiously remedy which is the main reason for post since not the case. Good practice to advise customers of additional cost vs and email from DHL saying pay us $100 to get your stuff.

I ordered a grill, front air ducts and a front splitter from them...while they were shipped fairly quickly once they did ship (one of the products was back ordered and caused a delay of the entire order), the quality of the products are average at best. The air ducts came broken (the clips broke off) because they aren't one single part, the resin the used to attach the clips to the duct is really cheap and was done very messily. They wanted tons of pictures to prove it and gave me a hard time about replacing them, they wanted me to pay for shipping. Thankfully the shop I took it to was able to reattach it with a proper resin mixture and it worked out. The description of the front splitter on their US site was wrong (but correct on their UK one) and was changed after I pointed it out to them but they said it was correct the whole time (I didn't screenshot it so I couldn't prove anything).

All in all, the stuff I bought is still holding up 1.5 years later because I made sure they were all installed correctly after I had to have them modified myself. My case is probably one of the "you get what you pay for" things, but they weren't very helpful after the fact once I got my products. I'm getting ready to switch all those parts out again, but will most likely go to a different vendor this time around.

Hey all!

Thanks again for all the feedback, it’s greatly appreciated. Firstly, an apologies from myself and the team for any inconvenience we have caused along the way of your order.

We are a team of 8 people that do our best to ensure parts are available as soon as possible, quality checked and dispatched across the globe.

While maintaining order demand, product testing ahead of offering it to consumers, helping making YT videos and running our sites. We try to maintain team training and development, as we know how important improvement of service is.

Lead times are a pain within our industry and the same with many others. When you look further into what goes into making the products we all use today on our cars, it’s crazy. For example, a carbon product can be 25 hours into manufacturing and the last polish you could sand down just .01mm and move the weaves and the whole product is void.

We are a reseller and this means leadtimes are determined by the manufacture / distributor.

We will continue to grow and improve our service but it’s not easy to find team members so driven as we all are each day.

If we can help with anything feel free to message the team via what’s app https://wa.me/message/TOYGTWTG7FEXB1 on ‪+44 7930 279103‬ or email sales@r44performance.co.uk

We are always happy to just catch up with past or future customers and hopefully we see each other across the world over the new year.

Rhys

Understand lead times just consider putting a more accurate estimate (e.g. ~8 weeks vs 2-3 weeks). Also, as mentioned recommend acknowledge button for customers so they’re aware there will be additional duty fees since not disclosed during check out. You selected vendor so have some responsibility. Just like my prime contractor, they sub out some work but, doesn’t absolve them of responsibility. Lastly and most importantly I don’t have any updates regarding correct part I ordered back in October. I’ve asked a couple times already. Why do I have to be proactive when I was sent the wrong part? I would expect that you would try to expedite and fix the mistake. Don’t think that’s unreasonable.

I placed a large order of MHC+ carbon parts from R44, and they were upfront about lead time and proactively reached out keeping me updated.

That's the key to me, don't mind the wait for quality as long as the vendor is responsive. And my experience has been great.

I have purchased a front lip, rear diffuser, and ducktail for my G82. Great products shipped fairly quickly. Love the quality.

Purchased a front lip for my son’s M240i for xmas. Received it about 2 weeks later. Drivers side corner blew off at 80 mph. Emailed them stating that the tape was probably too thin and not designed well. Was expecting the new corner shipped promptly. They sent the entire lip with both corners, increased amount of tape and redesigned/increased attachment points. Above and beyond customer service in my book.

I've bought a number of items from R44 over the last couple of years (2x sets side fender carbon covers for G82 and G80, set of Bimecc spacers with long bolts, plus an MHC+ M Performance-style carbon splitter) and they have all been delivered quickly and with no issues. Also, the quality of the carbon and fitment has been great and matches the OEM.

On the one occasion I did have an after-sales question re: fitment of the G82 side fender covers, they responded quickly and with useful info, so I've only had a positive experience of them. As a result, they're my go-to company for parts.

I agree with your complaint about the lead times as nothing is more frustrating than ordering something and expecting it in a certain time frame and then that time passes and zero communication as to when it will ship or it ships months later.

However, you ordered a product from another country. How did you not know there would be duty/import fees associated with it?

This was first time I ever had to pay. Previous order from this company and others I never had to pay. I also order parts from vendors in Japan for my other car and never charged import duties.

Crazy siding with you and hoping the best comes from this, is instigating problems.

Sorry to have people like this come in and derail the post.

Did R44 reach out at all since they replied?

No. Initial response from customer service (before this post was generated) was we’ll reach out to vendor. No updates since then.
