I’m bringing this age-old debate thread back up to ask:

Has anyone tried the Slybracket option for their G80, specifically one with the Driving Assistance Professional Package?

https://www.slybrackets.com

I don’t have a G80 in hand to try it out on, but I’m curious if this would work AND avoid the sensor.

The website gives criteria as to where it can be mounted on a horizontal-slated grill:

- *3/4 inch space or more between horizontal grilles is required for mounting.

- *4 1/2 inches of dept is needed from the front edge of the slat
to the radiator.

- *Top of slat needs to be flat and not slanted.

https://www.slybrackets.com/bozzmoun...ents-examples/

I just ordered the Rho. They claim no interference with PDC. Can anyone confirm? Sorry in advance, I didn’t read all 9 pages of this thread.

Here in Germany it's required to have a front license plate. I have a US spec G80 and will return to the states one day and do not want to drill holes into the front bumper so I use a license plate magnet kit. You install 4-6 magnets behind the bumper and then line up those magnets to the front plate and glue on 4-6 magnets to the back of the plate. Now I can take the from plate on/off without any issues or holes. Only problem would be if someone wanted to steal it they could but it's not a huge theft issue to steal plates here. Even if you used a plate bracket someone could still take your plates if they really wanted them but would probably end up damaging your car.

Your post is old but unanswered. Looking on their website, it states:

SIDE MESH GRILLE ONLY. NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE MAIN GRILLE HORIZONTAL SLATS.

So looks like not really.

In Cali where they’re super strict on front plates, I left mine off and cops don’t say anything because they know it’ll look wack. Now if I get a ticket, I’ll be the first to let yall know.

What’s the ticket in NH for no front plate? How many times can you get dinged before it’s a real issue?

Same. I've budgeted the tickets into my personal expenses. I told my dealer to keep the bracket.

After 20+ yrs of not running front plate in CA where someone above mentioned it’s “super strict”, I’ve had 2 fix-it tickets for this.

Haha... attaboy. I live in a no tint, 2 plate state. 20+ years of doing both and pretty much the same results. 3 "fix it" tickets across maybe 15-20 cars. I just double side tape the plate to "fix it" and move on.

I was joking about budgeting for tickets. Most of the time if you're not being an absolute animal on the road, cops have more to do.
