I’m most annoyed that the volume button on the steering wheel is on the right side.

Also, wish I could start M-mode in SPORT, guess I should look at coding that…

Also, annoyed that “Hey, BMW” feature works only 50% of the time at best…would be amazing if worked better.

1…The auto lock/unlock feature is functional but by far the most annoying thing on this car. If you’re trying to detail your car in the garage, it’s constantly lock/unlock, lock/unlock, lock/unlock, lock/unlock, lock/unlock…over and over and over it’s killing me.

2…The infotainment center, not hooking up to CarPlay, screen will go black but still plays music, it will be unresponsive to CarPlay, can’t hook up to CarPlay ETC… Have to reset the iDrive multiple times in a row sometimes before it even works. Super annoying I even talked to BMW about it, they have no answer. This happens multiple times a week, even if I leave my car and it’s running, then come back, CarPlay is no longer hooked up, I’ll have to spend 10 minutes trying to hook it back up.

3…Another thing that is annoying? The wind noise from the door windows (‘24 M4 cpe comp xdrive). I don’t know if it’s the design of the frameless window? Maybe not having enough cushion between the window and the car? When you get to about 20 mph or faster it sounds like the windows are partially down.

4… passenger side heated seat: it gets luke warm at best…

5… I can’t control the climate when I start the car from my key fob or from the app. The car is ALWAYS set to maximum HEAT! I think it’s called preconditioning but for the life of me, I cannot find the settings! Every time I start the car, it’s always 1,000,000° when I get inside. I definitely do not like this feature…

Other than that it’s a beast!
Excellent cat w/ CSL light mod eyes! What's the name?

Talking about car washing, I washed mine for the first time today.

It took longer to clean the wheels (826M) than the rest of the car. Not because of being dirty, but due to their nightmare design.

ID 8:
Air recirculate function - have to click 3 times to turn on, pain when passing by cow farms or skunk.

Not sure if this one on Idrive or CarPlay, but when car start it turns down music below mid lvl, but not navigation. People getting scared in the car

Rattle below screen on the left, also rattle of cup holder cover if in opened position.

Smudges on front windows both sides after closing, had that from new, now it’s improving with each carwash.

3. I don’t have this problem. Probably because I can’t hear it due to the HUGELY annoying dash rattles

4. You can up the heat in the seats with BimmerCode. Had to do this for the wife.

5. Definitely liked physical buttons better for climate control but ideally I’d have the screen of the ‘24 but physical buttons for climate control
#2 There are no updates available for my car, happened again this morning. I had to reset it 3 times while driving and it still didn't work...
#4 I did turn up the heat with Bimmercode, still luke warm at best...

What version are you running? My bet is it’s 07.2023. Just because the system tells you it’s the latest that is not the case. BMW rolls out updates slowly. If you tell your dealer your infotainment system is giving you issues like freezing they will flash 11.2023 which is the latest although I suspect 03.2024 will drop within a few weeks.

Interesting topic, I have a scanner I like to play with that reprograms the whole computer to BMWs latest spec. I might try it out on my car and let yall know if it’s possible.

Also, I would like to point out, that when the freezing with the idrive happens, like something not working right, just hold the power button for like I think it’s 40 seconds and wait for it to reset. Fixes bugs 90% of the time

My goal was to get the dealer to update me to 11.2023. The reset thing was just my excuse since it happened once😉

Doesn't necessarily annoy me but, about the Drive Recorder. It stores speed, time, GPS, etc.

In the event of a bad crash, the police can leverage this to prove you were doing XYZ.

Even if the crash isn't your fault, if you're speeding and they can prove it with the data you're gonna have a bad time.

I doubt they would even know the car has the feature. It's not exactly the same as a dashcam that's visible.

I bet the Insurance company will know about the feature. If you hurt somone speeding they will subpoena the information.

Maybe. Unlikely they would know either. In any case, I get the concern but if you aren't speeding or breaking the law there isn't much to worry about. No different from owning a dashcam. 99% of the time it's going to come in handy for you (not police or insurance).
