I forget but what does map 1 do to the vehicle? I sure would love to see numbers with the vehicle just stock. Either way I appreciate you posting whatever you have.

+3psi. More to come. This will be a 10 sec car soon no question. Just having fun dicking around with it

Under perfect conditions this may run 10.9-11 stock, but i want it to be able to just flick off a 10 on the street with break torquing on whatever surface… you know, real world 10s car

M3 with awd is awesome what I always dreamed for!

Makes you forget they even make the m340, well not entirely being the awd m3 is 80k and the m340 is 65k 🙃😔

More aggressive map from JB4 or a ECU tune and imo its EZPZ regular in the 10s.

I think once stage 2 downpipes and e85 gets introduced this car is doing low 10s.

This video shows a 9.53s for 60-130, which roughly translates to 8.5s for 100-200kph.

That could be 0.5s slower than the RWD model.

I believe this guy was also running 285/305 with aftermarket wheels which could have hurt the rolling acceleration, but i do think the rwd is slightly faster on a roll. Possibly 0.5 sec not sure tho.

If you look at this video, the times for the 60-130mph are almost identical or very close between RWD and AWD.

Any noticeable differences in 60-130 etc are likely going to be due to DA conditions, slope, tailwind etc.

The only "real" way to test is same day, basically same time, same stretch of road, same driver. Then I believe you can make a fairly accurate assessment of RWD vs Xdrive in regards to roll race quickness and trap speed.

Don't see that happening, but sure would be nice..

Trust me we'll see it happening in a month or two once Matt Watson (carwow) gets his hands on an AWD G8x... He already has a RWD G80 long term tester so it's only a matter of time at this point

I can’t think of any reason why they wouldn’t be identical in a roll race. The weight difference is so minimal the only way it could be an impact would be to make sure both drivers were the exact way, both cars had the exact level of gas and the build sheet was identical on both vehicles. Then for sure physics would take over and the added weight of the xdrive would be a factor assuming both engines were exactly the same HP.

What's the weight difference between Xdrive and RWD?

M3 (6MT) is 3840lbs so there you go

I understand and I didn't look up this vs. that in EU or US Spec, but what I remember is BMW answering on Instagram that the AWD system adds 50kg to the car... I think that doesn't change from EU to US, but let us know what you find out.

How accurate are these weights? There is an article (too lazy to Google and link) that says the g80 actually weighs 3700 pounds and that the weight advertised by BMW includes a 150 pound driver and 10 pound suitcase. Which would bring it close to what is advertised.

I mean the car being slightly lighter then advertised might also help to explain why the car appears much faster then it should be besides the typical underrated power. I mean every 100 pounds is equal to about 10hp and .1 in a 1/4 mile.

You're correct that vehicle weights are subject to a number of variables (the driver + cargo weights are a European standard), and there's no one single, universally-agreed upon way to measure that. However, I think it's reasonable to assume that BMW's official press releases rely on a consistent testing procedure across models. So even if you put your M3 on scales and it measures a different number than what you see listed, when comparing relative weights between models/specs from the official figures, I think it's fair to assume the reported deltas are accurate.
