Seems accurate to me for a high stress situation.

I only questioned it because when I had my first SVT (205 bpm at rest), the doctor told me that without SVT, even with strenuous exercise my heart would not exceed 170 bpm (because of my age), and that if I ever got over 150 then I was having an SVT. Not that I'm a specialist, it just seemed to me that 194 was excessive without SVT.

One can easily get to these heart rate levels via the fight-or-flight response which produces a ton of norepinephrine secretion. Sudden extreme physical or psychological stress does funky things like that.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I hope I never get there

Max heart rate is a skewed science.

Basically 220 is the fastest HR a baby heart beats in the womb. Then from there you're removing 1 BPM for every age of life.

It's just as skewed and tainted logic as old school Military height /weight charts or BMI for that matter.

I did some reading on it after replying to this thread, and it's indeed weird. Max BPM ever recorded was 480, and several people have been recorded over 300. I can't even imagine. Makes sense though, I was just chillin' at 205 BMP, so I'm sure there was plenty left.
