Drives me crazy that every time I start up my car, the HVAC heat/AC comes on by default. I remember I was able to code this out when I had my E92 M3. Can this be done on the G8X? I don't see it on the BimmerCode app.

Mine remembers my last setting. If it's off when I turn the car off, it's off when I turn it back up. Is this not the same for you?

Nope. 1000000% that I turn off my AC/Heat/Fan before the car is off and each time when I go back and drive the car, the AC/Heat comes back on by itself. Def does not remember my last setting.

Did the same thing in my 22' M4 and now in my 24' M4.

Do you have your door card preset, set with AC on though?

You might want to try turning AC off. Now hit set on your door and #1.

Didn't even know that the doorcard seat preset would save HVAC settings. Only seat and mirrors lol. I'll give it a try and report back.

Are you sure you're turning the AC off or just turning the fan speed to zero? To turn the AC off, you have to toggle the switch in the upper left-hand corner of the screen (iD8).

I guess I should have been more clear. So when I was saying "AC" in the above posts, I was talking about the actual fan. The entire HVAC system that blows air/heat. Didn't actually mean the AC button

Right, and turning it off, you're talking about toggling the entire system off with the top left button in the climate menu, which has the temperature indicators on the bottom bar say "OFF" instead of just low/zero fan? They were talking about that and not just the AC button.

If you toggle this off, HVAC will be off next time you start the car. I know you have iD7 but look for something similar. Maybe one of the other guys more familiar with iD7 can help.

Im not certain what it programs. But Im pretty sure its much more than just the seats. Hopefully it helps.

Yes, Thank You guys. Will try that. Although I believe the Heated/Vent Seats won't work unless I go back and click it to enable the "all climate functions" button again. But initial inquiry solved so Thank You

I guess I'll have to pick and choose my battles with this new damn iDrive lol.

You are correct on that first part. Seat functions will only work with the climate system turned on, which is an unfortunate side-effect of iDrive 8
