I'm in the Chicago Suburbs area and I keep getting labor quotes from 1250-1800 to install the OEM BMW M Perf springs on the xDrive.

So I did more googling around today and found AFA Performance in Downers Grove, IL (10 minutes from where I live). Got a much better quote ($700) and I am going to be taking my G80 there once I get it. They have done about 15 G8Xs in the last few years.

I'm looking to have my H&R VTF HAS kit installed and am being quoted like $906.00. Seems kinda high to me. He was saying it takes like 6 to 7 hrs or so?

Does that sound right?

What labor rate though? $150 per hour seems a bit high to me. But, ive done alot of my own work on previous cars. So, I could just be out of touch.

Anywhere from $110-150 is what I have been quoted recently.

Houston sucks. Over charging.
Yes EMG and many other shops I called all of them are pretty much $,1000+.. Houston has crazy prices. I use to Pay 300 for such work in Bay area.
I got a $400 quote from a shop near San Antonio.. not sure if I want to drive 3 hours for springs but I might just go can't justify paying more for the installation than the kit itself.

The third shop, I prefer not to disclose and at over $2,000 it is not realistic anyway.

European Motor Gruppe (EMG)
Installation: $750
Alignment: $150

E1 Motorsports
Installation: $1,050
Alignment: $199
Only if I had seen this earlier lol . I paid 1100 with MSS HAS kit , one time use bolts and alignment at M.K. Autowerkstatt .

It’s not a bad price either way. I think it’s fair . Euro Logik quoted me 1600 without alignment .

Quotes in South FL

I got a few quotes for my H&R Sport Springs and Spacers install:
  1. $1,642 for labor, guy over the phone said it would take 9 hours to complete; and $200 for alignment.
    Total = A whopping $1,842 + tax ()
  2. $1,000 for labor; $150 for alignment
    Total = $1,150 + tax
  3. $875 for labor, which should take 5 hours; and another $175 for alignment.
    Total = $1,050 + tax.
  4. $525 for labor; and $170 for alignment.
    Total = $695 + tax

Do your research, folks.

Quotes were from a few very reputable shops in South FL.
