Front axle? No. You have to take the struts out. In red you can swing the strut out without completely removing it. $2k with parts or just the install?
I think that included the parts if I remember correctly. It they did say you need to take the axel out be abuse there is a risk of snapping it. Something along those lines.

Nope. I would never let anyone remove the front axle aside from the dealer. There is no need to remove the entire axle. You can detach the struts, install the new springs and adjusters and re-install the strut. Unless they are confusing strut with axle. Which would worry me tbh.

Took just under 3 hrs on mine including alignment. 9 hrs is way off.

I was quoted for MSS HAS installed.. price includes parts, alignment, and labor for install.. $2500 total. Unsure how to feel about this.

Means roughly $1200 for the HAS kit.
$1300 between tax, alignment, and labor.

I paid $250 originally for MSS install.

Just went back to have the lower MSS kit fitted on the front and it was $120 and that included fitting my Unit 17 splitter. All was done in less than an hour.

This was in Queens in NYC

Some of these quotes are absolutely absurd.

This is a quick and easy job to do if you know what you're doing.

Anyone in the Las Vegas area that needs work or
Modifications done let me know. Prices will be a lot less than what you’ll be normally paying and work will be top notch.

Anyone know a reputable shop in the lower CT/Westchester area to install KW HAS and adjustable arms?

You should go to the Stance Shop in Queens, not that far. They almost exclusively work on M cars and their prices are great. Tell him Barry sent ya!

The third shop, I prefer not to disclose and at over $2,000 it is not realistic anyway.

European Motor Gruppe (EMG)
Installation: $750
Alignment: $150

E1 Motorsports
Installation: $1,050
Alignment: $199
Called EMG yesterday and got a quote.
He is charging me $65 more for the spring set than I can purchase it myself.

Labor cost $1,009 to install including the install of spacers and alignment. (installing spacers should be nothing really, wheels are off and your just putting in a plate). Alignment is $200

I plan on calling a few more shops in the Houston area. Hell, may call dealership and see what their labor cost is to install.

The Xdrive fronts are 10x more of a pain the the RWD. Did the install myself on my new M4 in about ~2 hours for all 4 corners. On my lift and I'm very familiar with working on BMWs.

Removed the nut for the front axles to give me enough room to swing the strut out without binding up the axle. I was able to compress the strut by hand enough to swing out like on the RWD, you need some muscle though as the strut isn't easy to compress. Strut only needs about an inch of compression to clear the fender liner.

Got quotes ranging from $700-$800 to install the M Performance HAS. I'm thinking about putting that money towards a Quickjack and doing the work myself based on tdott's DIY write-up. It'll probably take me twice as long as everyone else here, but it'll be satisfying and I can use the Quickjack in the future for wheel swaps and height adjustments based on season.
