Are you able to post the plots on here? Adding stage 1 S55 would be helpful too if possible please. Boost pressure trace?

As the S58 and S55 have similar specs (bore, stroke, displacement, etc) do you think the S58 is at a higher state of tune than a stock S55, so in essence running a stage 1 tune from the get go, or this engine and turbo has as much headroom as an S55 but starting from an even higher base? Interested in yout thoughts.
When you look at the stuff they can do with a stage 1 on a S58 in the X3M, there is apparently a lot of easy accessible headroom!

I am pleasantly surprised by the performance and am super hyped to see aftermarket support and maybe 9's??... but as a guy also VEHEMENTLY against the look of this car...

I don't agree. In person, this car is NOT beautiful in any sense of the word. The rear end looks good enough, but the tacked on looking diffusers look only good from a distance. The front end is an atrocity compared to an other 90k car. The performance is amazing and the interior is also quite nice. Now of course I don't speak for everyone, but me and all my buddies went to go see it and we all left with the expectations we had initially which was disappointment in the looks department. Unfortunate really.

Crazy performance though!

Can you explain what you mean by this? Bi-turbo and twin-turbo (note, not twin-scroll turbo) mean the same thing. The S58 has 2 turbochargers and is twinturbo/biturbo. I really don't understand what your point has been lol.

I suspect he meant twin-charged. I.e use a super charger for low rpm support until the turbos spool up.

Yes, two turbos, but still such a high torque threshold? Two smaller turbos made me hope torque comes in sooner. Others here suggested that this was a deliberate choice of BMW, to provide a more lineair build up and avoid the traction issues of the F80.

I haven't seen compressor maps but I'm guessing this is all from the OEM tune. I'm betting there is a ton of headroom in the stock turbos.

We also compare the stock figures with a stock F80 M3 and Stage 2 F80 M3 (DP and Tune).

can you explain linked and unlinked and which one is more accurate?
