In transit for 15 days

My car has been in transit for 15 days now. What's the average "in transit" time?

Average isn't helpful. Call BMW or your SA and ask what ship your car is on and what port it's going to. Report back and we can help track the ship.

Your SA will likely have an ETA too

Depends on where your car is going. My car left the port on the 20th and isn’t s’posed to arrive in Charleston til the 9th. So that’s 19 days. BUT…I have a stop sale, so it will say ‘in transit’ until that is resolved. Which could take weeks…

I think you'll actually go from "at the port" when you're in Bremerhaven to "in transit" when you're on the boat and finally back to "at the port" (confusingly) when you get to the VPC. I've got stop sale(s) too, and I've been in that "at the port" status with an open work order for...43 days now, haha.

Over a month for stop sale, that's ridiculous.

What is your stop sale for?

I *think* it's the camera modules for the park assist package. But could also be the audio module - BMW Genius refuses to actually give me much information...to the point of saying that have info they can't tell me...very "neener neener neener" of them, but I digress. My dealership has not been much better with info...I've kind of climbed the anger hill about the whole situation and back down the other side. There are others who have been waiting longer...and I'll get the car...eventually.

Anyway - to the OP, hopefully you're not stuck waiting for any longer than absolutely neccessary!

Just called BMW Genius. That phone system is pretty horrible. After calling 3 times, I'm waiting on a call back. You'd think a company like BMW would have a better customer service system.

you have a lot of research to do, my friend. I live in Norcal, waiting on my car, as well, and shipping to California, from Bremerhaven Germany, is 28-33 days. That's just to get to the port, and if your car has a stop sale for parts, itll be there, longer. Then it's onto the dealer, which could take another week.

Ive been in transit for 15 days, as well. So, if youre on the Atlas Leader, I have a vessel tracking thread, here.

My car left Bremmerhaven the 14th and is expected to arrive at NJ port this Sunday, the 26th... so ~12 days. Now the RAM module stop sale might delay the car going from VPC to the dealership, though.

And if you have an M4 Convertible, they have not been released by the EPA supposedly. So mine's been sitting for about 40 days at port. So good luck

For us in TX we don't even get a BOAT. From VPC/SC we get either train or truck directly here. I was surprised when the person from Genius told me that.

You thought the car would get on a boat to go from South Carolina to Texas?

No... At first I was told once the car is made, it gets sent to Germany to "be checked" or something of the sort and sent back. My first time ordering a car so I don't know all the in's and outs.

I believe Galveston is another port where BMWs are destined.

The vehicles made in Germany get sent to the Port in Galveston if you're in TX I'm guessing?
