Looks great! 👏

It's on the same level of Active Autowerke did with equal length fixing the biggest "flaw" of the F80 they really nailed this and fixed my biggest issues with G80. Looks good on its own and is actually in line with new limited edition M soon to be launched.

Seem almost like the upcoming car, in terms of grill size. Looks nice

This is the M8, not the G80. Someone suggested that if one wanted the M8, they should get one instead.

And I thought M division said every M product would be easily distinguished from any other sibling(s)

I think if you've got to go that far with your car… your in the wrong one.
Sorry not feeling this design but good luck with it.

Why do you say that? these cars handle those speeds very well.

This looks really good and makes me consider the M3 over the new m2. I would buy it if the bumper wasn't over 2.5k

Aside from the grill best would be to do a comp package in manual shift. Till then I'll pass and stick with the f80. Μαλακία

I Quote-
Chris Harris

BMW got it all wrong from the beginning of the design of the G8X Generation. Nothing can save this design but a revision of what a M car should be.

Because BMW signed off on this design years and years before they went into production. Back in 2014-2016. BMW thought this is what people wanted. I can clearly see the design team fighting with the M engineers.. Over how this car should look and drive.

GX8 looks like a Asian mustang-

Do you have sex with your eyes closed??

Makes you wonder—- 😆

It's also not feasible... it's one thing to create a 2-D render but once you realize what's underneath the front bumper (mounting points, cooling ducts etc.) you'll see making something like this is not going to happen.

So far, I think the teaser shot of the bumper on the Skyscraper car looks great! Cohesive and more OEM than some of the other renders I've seen. I think it has potential. As someone else mentioned, I'm curious what changes to aero and airflow/cooling come about with the change in grill shape/size.

Yep! Everybody knows better than the designers. It's funny that despite all of the uproar, the car has been an excellent seller……proving a point (…as usual). All of that talk about radically changing bumpers/grilles went completely out of the window once everybody's emotions settled down.

Exactly... when I see some of these replies, it's giving "old man yells at clouds". I get the G80/2 design isn't for everyone. I agree it's not a classical beauty like generations prior, but the car still looks good to me, in a non-traditional way; and as you said it's an excellent seller! I know some will say that's because of the market in general and not because the G8x is a hit, but I'm still not 100% convinced that's the sole reason. The car is a blast to drive and still the sportiest choice in the segment, maybe save for the ancient Alfa.

It looks really good to me. I'll let someone take the $$ hit to install it and then pick up a used one with it already installed in a few years

It's flawed reasoning for sure. People don't generally spend $80-100k on something they do not like…..or mostly like. You can barely get someone to spend $10 on food they don't like, but we're supposed to believe that people are so liberal with $80-100k?!? It's nonsense. There are plenty of other cars somebody could spend their money on. People aren't forced to buy G8X's.

looking forward to seeing the finished product. especially the rear diffuser. Hopefully it goes will as a standalone piece bc it seems like the "reverse winglet style" may not work on its own without the other pieces around the body.
