Gold 1000M & Frozen Brilliant White?

My current Ultra M-Spec TE37s are my dream wheel, but after seeing the recent pics of the Frozen Solid White CS w/gold 827Ms, my opinion on the frozen white/gold combo has done a 180. Gold 1000Ms have been one of my top-3 favorite wheels since release, but I have been hesitant with how they’d look against Frozen Brilliant White. The new CS helps with that.

Now, Frozen Brilliant and Frozen Solid White are different. FBW seems to have a bit more gold pearl in it. And then there’s the curveball of full Yas interior. I “think” it could all flow, just not sure. The Diamond Black TEs have really tied the whole package together. Would love some community feedback, be it either gold 1000Ms or 827Ms. My G80 also has blue calipers, so that’s a factor as well.

chicagofan00 and Limegrntaln thoughts?

The first world problems that keep me up at night…

I think the gold would pair really well with the FBW.

I’d say the gold 827Ms from the CS would be the better route to go due to the availability or more tire choices and I like the design of them slightly better than the 1000M, however, I don’t think you could go wrong with either one.

The difficult part would be the blue calipers. I’m not sure how those would look with the gold wheels. I loved the red calipers with my black wheels but feel they are now a bit out of place with the 1000Ms, but not bothered by it enough to really do anything about it. Lol. I’m sure I’m the end it would be fine though.

Great points, thanks! I would think the 827 should be decently priced as well. Don’t know which one I like better though.

And funny you mention the red calipers… after seeing the CS, I now feel the red calipers with the gold wheels is one of the best combos.

Yes, I’d expect the 827Ms to be a decent amount cheaper than the 1000M setup as well which is definitely a check for the plus column.

I think the price difference might not be much between the two if they increase the price of Bronze 827M wheels now that the CS is coming. Currently the 827M stagger set up black is about $2800 + shipping and the 1000M is about $4400 +shipping from Paddleshifterz. If they increase the price of the bronze by $200, ur cost savings will drop to about $600. So go with what makes you happy

How did I miss this thread? I agree with chicagofan00 the 1000M are stellar, and I'm not sad I bought them. I was a little disappointed to see the 827Ms come in bronze. I had told him, off forum, that I probably would have gone with the 827M, since there are more star options available, and they are cheaper.

Not to mention the 19/20 wheel combination, which will give you the 35/30 tire combination that already comes stock.

I will say that going with the 1000M package, I'd suggest getting the whole package, tires already installed. There are a few places you can get them from for the $6,200-$6,300 range, delivered.

I never drive my car, in inclement weather, but, I went out to a meetup, this past weekend, where it wasn't supposed to start raining for about 5 hours after we go there. It started raining as soon as I took the exit to park. I had a 100 mile drive back home with the Yokohama Advan in the rain, and they actually performed really well.

Now, I understand that you're not xDrive, but, for me, I couldn't even get them to slip in the rain. I actually tried a brake boosting at the red light, and I couldn't get the tires to slip. It launched hard.

Haha all good man!

I appreciate the input! I think I’m waiting to see more non-press photos of the frozen white/bronze combo before I move in that direction.

I can appreciate the tire options for the 19/20. It used to be slim pickins if you wanted to stay with star, now there are 5 tires available for it. 2 being Pirellis, which isn’t super exciting, but, none the less.

Ah good to know. I’m not thrilled about going with a 21” in the rear. I can easily put 50 miles on my car in a single day with dailying. Just concerned I’d be too sensitive to less sidewall.

The sidewall seems to be stiffer with the low pros. I drove on some of the worst roads in California, in the rain, over the weekend, and they were actually excellent. I aired them to 35 when I installed them, but the car says 38-40, depending on which corner. Which seems to work fine.

Limegrntaln and chicagofan00 , do you have to hand wash these gold 1000M wheels to keep them clean or can I just do the regular car wash? Do they get dirty easily? Ive narrowed down my color for powder coating my 827 which is close to the Satin Bronze/Gold but wondering if the upkeep is going to be a pain with the breakdust and dirt. I have regular brakes on my car.

I havent washed them, yet. I kinda have cheater brakes. The only thing that gets on the wheels, is road dirt.

I have the steel brakes so I’m not as lucky as Limegrntaln is when it comes to brake dust. The 1000M wheels still get just as dirty as my 826Ms did but they do seem to hide the brake dust a little bit longer than the black wheels. I’d say cleaning them still involves some level of effort but they aren’t as bad as my 826Ms were.

Thank you. Thinking about ceramic coating them too so hopefully they are easier to clean with the steel brakes.

I ceramic coated mine and it helps but I wouldn’t say it’s a world of difference.
