Status pushed back to Order Recieved

Here is my story, a bit strange:

08/11 Dealer called saying they have an allocation for me.
08/12 Received production number and showing order received from mygarage and given BW39 by my dealer
08/17 Status changed to 112 Scheduled for Production
08/24 Called BMW genius and was told BW was changed to 38
09/08 mygarage shows status back to Order Received. Called BMW genius and was told that's what they see as well. However, BW is now 36, which is this current week.

How is that possible? Am I going to see my status change to production complete tomorrow? Lol

I'm not sure what is going on. A few of us that were scheduled for week 37 have also gone back to to 111 status from 112. I've been production scheduled since beginning of august, until it went back to order received today. My SA is looking into it.

All I can say is this car purchase has been the most aggravating, labor intensive, and time consuming of any car purchase I've ever made. The lack of communication from BMW and my dealership when comes to all these delays has been atrocious. Seems no one knows anything.

Even my ordered Macan, delivered back in middle of 2020 during the thick of COVID-19 along with plant closures and such went smoother.

If there is a supply problem when it comes to certain options, why can't BMW just state so? I've been at fucking 112 for over a month now....no excuse as to why they can't communicate the issue to me....

Coming from cancelling an I4 M50, I would say, the M3 production is "way better" than how the I4 has been handled. Had a guy with status 150 since Dec 2021. Everyone's build has been pushed around for no clear reason. No real info on what is happening and SA are completely clueless and all BMW can do is continue to launch new cars - I7, I4 e35 etc when they cant even produce a damn thing in time !!!

I haven't heard back yet, but I did the google chrome tool and it says my car is status 105 not 111. 105 is apparently "order out of production" so I'm not sure what that means.

I had the same when the switch from 22 to 23 was still pending, you maybe need a new production number? Mine had changed from 22 to 23

This just happened with mine too. I got my allocation Mid-July, and scheduled for product since 8/3, until today. Chrome tools says Status 105. Screen says "Order Received".

Is there some common option that you both have chosen that may be causing production delays?

This happened to me and I have the carbon buckets on my build. I don't know if that's the cause of it though.

105 = no production week available, which means you'll get rescheduled

So It looks like carbon buckets/exterior package might be the culprit. I have laser lights, parking assistance, executive package, regular seats, and CF trim on my build and its wk 37 and just went into exterior assembly today. Hit 150 last thursday with prod date 9/12.

That would make sense. Sucks if that's the case I originally got pushed back 7 weeks because of the carbon buckets. A logical person would think a company as big as bmw would be able to get the parts necessary in a reasonable time frame to complete these builds. BMW builds Hundreds of cars a day that all have carbon parts on them, hard to believe the carbon buckets could be delayed this much. But what do I know, looks like I will be rolling into 11 months of waiting for this car just to be built.

Its weird. There were folks who had buckets on their M4 with wk 37 who went into assembly yesterday. It looks like BMW stocked up on all their parts for 2 weeks when they went into the summer break and when they came back went into full production mode and started handing out allocations willy nilly and now they are all caught up and the shortage is back

Yea it's crazy. Annoying how the m4CSL was announced like 2 months ago and someone who ordered one at my dealer just took delivery today. But all these m3 orders keep getting pushed back… I know different factories but its still annoying we've all been waiting so long

Thanks to Kanban (Just in time inventory) followed by all OEMs. These issues have become more common post covid era with parts shortage and logistic issues. All OEMs goes through these issues but people complain here as BMW gives customers the ability to track the build process in detail unlike everyone else.
