I ordered these months ago and just didn’t install them until today for a ton of reasons. I just wanted to follow up now that they are on, as many of you DMed me asking my thoughts:

They are amazing. Break feel is better, stopping power is wayyy better, and dust is significantly less than stock. I really cannot recommend them enough. If anyone has questions just respond to this thread or DM me. Thanks r33_RGSport even if I did buy them from you months ago 🤣

EDIT:

most important part I forgot to mention…our stock pads have vibration dampeners at the top of the front pads (maybe back too but I forget and don’t think so). The are circular, hard-rubber, things. Isweep and most aftermarket pads DO NOT have these and that’s normal/ok. Also, adjacent to these, there are two holes for the pins to mount the pads to the calipers. These holes are bigger than oem l and also normal.

To be clear, there is no issue or impact resulting from non-oem pads having these differences…and in fact, as I stated above, breaking has never been so pleasurable and finally….QUIET….and I can’t recommend these enough.

Awesome. I may have to pick these up. What percent reduction in dust do you think? 50% 75%?

75% but they are still new and only been in the car a couple days- I’ll report back in another week, I washed the car today for this testing specifically

How was the initial bite after a wash/wet?

Been eyeing these as well, I believe these are the ones Ben also recommends for colder environments (vs the IS1500).

Much, Much better stock. After wash with stock I’d lose all bite for a few miles…it was always nerve wracking and sketchy and that didn’t happen this time. It’s just beyond amazing how much better stopping power and feel I have now versus stock. Though, this is my first time with aftermarket pads, but I’m flabbergasted how much an improvement it is. If dust remains this much better, which is why I bought them to reduce it and stop the squealing, then this will be the best “upgrade” I’ve done to date.

Did you get new brake wear sensors or no?

I did buy them with the pads but they were not needed; the stock ones were used. From what I can tell, they are simple wire harnesses so I don’t know how they could break or not be reused. I bought them for piece of mind in case they were needed 🤷‍♂️

Checking in on an update after a week. Seriously considering the IS1500 or the IS2000's to primarily fix the dust and the squeal!

I stand by my statement that the 2000s are 70%+ less dust and I haven’t had a squeal yet; still think it’s been the best “upgrade” I’ve made. All that plus better breaking power, should be a no brainer!

thank you!

very much appreciate the update! now i have to decide 1500s with 90% dust reduction and oem performance or 2000s with 70/75% dust reduction and more grab. i have a g83 which is the heaviest g8x and the brakes work fine but I do feel like I have to really get on them to stop fast sometimes.

Leaning to the 2000's right now.

What about track experience? How do the is2000 compare to OEM in high load situations?

I’ve never tracked my car, so I can’t speak to that. I’ve only had to brake really hard once, and it was definitely less nerve wracking than stock, but that’s not tracking, obviously.

Just the post I was looking for! I have been going back and forth for so long which ones to go with and safe to say 2000s are the way.

Any rattling sounds with those pads? Ive seen a post somewhere here where a guy tried a few brand of pads and said they all rattled. I thought isweep was one of them.

None. Not a rattle, squeak, squeal, or break dust for that matter. Like I said elsewhere in this thread, I can’t recommend these enough.

Have you ever gotten squealing since installing them? My damn OEM pads will not stop yelling...

Medal great to hear your great experience.
My challenge now is to keep up with demand.
Just got my new shipment and after all the back order in a month, I am running low again.

No and that’s why I bought new pads. I couldn’t use the brakes on my car without being embarrassed

I have the IS1500 on the front and EBC Reds on the rear. No noise and minimal dust after 400 miles. I don’t track my car but I can say the stopping power of this combo has been more than adequate for a daily driver…plenty of bite.

@Medal

What sort of bedding in process did you do? Just a number of high speed stops followed by a cooling off period or is there a better technique for ceramic pads specifically?

Also, how much more bite than stock do you think the IS2000s have? They're not too touchy, are they?

Thank you for this information. What is the average time to replace pads? I have about 30k miles on my OEM brake pads that came on the car new. Thank you
