Auto Drive Pickiness

When using full cruise control with steering, the car is consistently to the right of center by a good 18+ inches.

I’ve also noticed this in wife’s 2020 X5.

Total first world problem of course but it’s annoying. I have to constantly steer left to correct.

Anybody else have this issue and is there a way to adjust?

It says in the owners manual that you can hold the wheel at your preferred “line” within the lane and it will adjust. Personally here in Houston, I’ve never felt the need to. You might take it to the dealer and see if it needs calibration.

Can you shoot a video? What part of town are you in? What type of roads?

After driving yesterday I realized it’s closer to 12 inches. Mostly noticeable on freeways. (610 near galleria, I-10). I live in Memorial.

I didn’t realize the manual addressed this so I’ll try to self correct but I’m sure that hasn’t worked up to this point.

There are times I might have a big 18 wheeler next to me and the car is very happy to crowd up against it. Just no clue.

Maybe the dealer can adjust.

I haven't had a problem on 45 or BW8, so yeah, I'd take it to the dealer and have them recalibrate the cameras if the "hold the wheel in position" trick doesn't work.

Are you driving with assisted view on your display? See what it's showing you. May give you a clue.

I’m 17k miles into driving mine and use the cruise a lot. It definitely leans towards hugging the right side of the lane. I think I looked this up before and is a common complaint. May just be in my head but seems like it has adjusted a bit more to the center with recent software updates.

I agree it leans towards the right, but a glance at my side view mirrors shows I'm still somewhat centered in the lane, enough for me not to have that much concern.
