We learned that BMWs are ugly and they used to be pretty
We learned that CS and CSL are body kit, springs, and a tune
We learned that some people are highly resistant to change

Pretty much no cool, all ridiculous

Cadillac? Which Cadillac are we talking about? The Cadillac that made the Catera? Or the CTS which isn't quite the same as the CT5. Or maybe the one that made the STS back in the 90's? Or is it the one that makes the Escalade now? Caddy has no idea what it is.

MB AMG just introduced a C63 with a turbo 4 cylinder and hybrid system.

The Mk8 GTi is fat and complicated compared to the 5, 6 and Z. And they haven't made an R32 for a while...

So yeah, some of those cars you say still have some feel. Maybe? But as a whole, as a brand? Nah. Things are different. Everyone has sold out in some way or another. There was more "feel" in my Dad's E32 735i than in today's G80. Does that mean I want to drive an E32 daily? No, not really.

And the new Z is basically just a reskinned 370Z. Everyone is pining for the the past instead of looking at the future. I can’t say I blame them, but no matter how much we complain, we aren’t going back for too many reasons.

Why is AMG in this list?? Have you since their recent offerings??

AMG sold out not BMW.. AMG are the ones that put a 4 pot in a 63 that’s selling out no AMG 63 customers wants a 4 pot but at least with BMW you can get a stright six with a manual depending on your model and your location.

Dang, I thought I was getting something special and not just a CS badge and tune. Calling my dealer tomorrow to cancel my order and will be sending direct messages to all people in this thread who opened my eyes and saved me some money.

So now we are at 14K difference,

The msrp on the oem csl trunk is around 14K plus taillights another 5-6

When you start knit picking, the csl has a much better value per say for whats offered,

The m3cs for the price should have a good amount of the suspension stuff to be an incredible value.

If I wasnt looking for a daily out of it and driving it in the snow, the csl would be the better value and yes id daily it,
Due to wanting the AWD the cs becomes the go to choice.

Just my 2c
Does the CS have the full bucket seats as an option?

The funny part is my daughters 50k tesla 3(which is now gotten more cheaper!) has a better acceleration than this!
We are pushing it. End of ICE era.

I want to agree with you, despite the teslas mind blowing and “no drama” performance.
Sometimes drama is good though. That’s why I ordered a manual M2!

bmw could do more. why not throw a larger turbo on the CS and CSL ? Nissan did that with the GTR nismo. Porsche has like 5 different turbo setups as you move up from base model, s, gts, turbo, and gt2. at least then you would get something the lower model cars can't replicate easily. especially at this price point.

base M2 - n55 engine, 53k

M2 comp - s55 engine, new suspension (fixed dampers), new gauges, different seats, bigger brakes, different front bumper, new wheels 59k

M2 cs - revised suspension with adaptive dampers, cf roof, cf hood, different seats, ccb option, new wheels 83k

For a $20k bump i would expect more changes going from M3cx to M3cs. at least do some stuff thats hard to replicate aftermarket.

CSs are made for forum threads It's the classic BMW recipe:

Yes it will be better than a M3CX. Sorry but BMW intentionally leaves gas in the tank just for these limited models, that is what it is.
Yes it's a ludicrous MSRP for a tune, carbon pieces, recalibrated EDC, and some additional hardware.
Yes you can take a civic G80 and turn it into a CS killer and no it still won't be a CS.

The CS formula has been figured out for a while now - for BMW it's a rinse & repeat exercise. This is the way.

Yeah I wish BMW didn’t do this kind of thing and instead followed Porsche’s lead with the 911.

Oh….wait….
