Why won't my tire pressure monitor stop complaining?

It keeps yelling at me about the left rear tire that tire was previously low down to about 23 with a cold weather. I inflated it and it's now the same as the other tires, but I can't figure out how to reset it and make the car happy that it's normal.

That's is weird. I will say your rear tires a very low compared to the recommended PSI on the door jam. Maybe 30 is the cutoff for a warning. Left rear is 20.8 (rounded up to 30 for display purposes) and the others are at least 30. Just brainstorming here. Try making them all the recommended PSI.

The rear tires should be inflated more than the fronts.

The label in my door says 32psi front and 35psi rear.

Your front warning might be at 27psi and rears at 30psi. Rear left May be 29.8 or something and rear right at 30.1. Don't know.

Thanks. I don't think that's the case though. It shows them in single digit increments and the others turn green at maybe 28ish. I forget the exact number. I've even had that tires as listed higher than the others and still get yelled at.

snareman I hate the same issue, and what I notice, as the weather is getting colder the recommend tire pressure in the "myBMW" app is increasing, for example it the rears were 36 a month a 39 two weeks ago and this morning it was recommending 41 psi. Is possible that the TPMS system is getting smart and has some correlation to the temperature the car is reading and what the tire pressure should be for that temperature. I inflated the tires to the recommend pressure on myBMW and I stopped getting the annoying message every time I got on the car.

I get this a lot cause i swap tires and run super low cold pressure for track.

Change your tire type in the tpms menu. With summer tire selection it doesn't like below 32 cold

You need to reset tire pressure monitor after filling every time.

As stated above, reset tire pressure monitor. That being said, I've had an issue with TPM being either buggy or way too sensitive on every M I have owned since the E46. Pretty much just ignore it unless I feel the car feeling odd

Ok, I blew them all up to 32 as my door says and it stopped yelling. I was just confused why if it was saying it was in the green that it was still low, even when it was higher than the others. All better now though.

I have nothing to say in this matter since my G80 is currently on a ship making its way over; however, post a pic of your Enzian Blue M4!

Where in the MyBMW app does it recommend the tire pressure?

Go to check vehicle status and then check control messages. You'll see the recommend pressures for the front and rear above and below the image of the car.

Clearly I also need to get out in the garage and adjust the PSI as well.

Mine has it. Android. I'm impressed that all of our cars are the actual color they are, even the individual ones. Interesting though. I never would have known the pressures were listed there.

Also note that there's a setting in the tire pressure setting for "<100 mph" and ">100 mph" driving (for US folks).

If you select the <100 mph option, the target pressures will be as they are on your door jam, (32 psi I believe). If you select >100 mph, the targets will be something like 35-36 psi front and 38-40 psi rear as it is in the owner's manual. I forget what the actual >100 mph numbers are but they are a bit higher than the <100 mph figures. I know this because I selected the >100 mph option when I changed to my winter wheels/tires and then the system told me my rears were now low at 32 psi when they were fine before I selected that option. I since went back to the <100 mph option because realistically, I'm not hitting 100 mph in my daily drive (essentially no highway).
