Yes, I definitely see myself ding that in the paddocks Thanks for sharing though.

With the F8X setup, it is less than 5 minutes per corner once the wheels are off.

Great photos! I am definitely interested in a Manual M4......does anyone know if the carbon buckets will be available with the manual? ...while not having to upgrade to comp package ?

In other words: is a manual, stripper, with carbon buckets possible?

Thank you for this!!! Great photos and impressions, what is the consensus opinion on the car in your eyes for the average chinese buyer?

Do you think it will sell well in Asia?

Yes and no. It also implies a puny single piston floating caliper at the rear and gone with the separate handbrake drum inside the rear rotor hub. It also means you need a laptop every time you swap the rear pads, not convenient for quick track side brake jobs. Overall, it's a significant performance downgrade.

That's exactly what I meant. One more reason I'm so pleased I ordered an M2 CS

Can't wait till it gets here

Speaking strictly to the G80, only the front bothers me.... and a true determination cannot be made until seen in real life.

As far as the G82, it's angles really appear like a mess all over, it's honestly hard to tell it is a BMW. It looks like an Infiniti G coupe mixed with non conventional BMW front.

This exactly. This is an evolution of the infinity q60 not a BMW M3/4.

Other than the bump in HP and maybe some suspension tuning, any other major difference between non-comp vs. comp?

What I'm getting at is I would love to order a manual. But I also want to add all the CF bits found in the comp, etc. from what I understand, the CF package is ala cart and not exclusive to the comp series?

No difference, you can order anything you like with a 6 speed manual... same suspension as well between base and competition!

And you need to thank that for being able see independent pictures and reviews of the real thing at this point.

Also quite an achievement hosting a world class auto show at a difficult time like now, safely.

FYI @GMCHEM83

At least as far as the US market is concerned the difference between comp and base is.... comp gets:
-auto transmission
- more power with auto transmission
- gloss black mirrors, spoiler, rear badge (also no charge option for base cars)
-standard 19/20in wheel combo

excluding the above, all standard equipment and all options on comp seem to be available on base, there was a rumor a month or so ago that the 18/19 wheel combo might not make it to final production but it has popped up on some early configurators.

Yeah, there's a MASSIVE 73 lb-ft torque difference between the non-comp and comp model. Dumb.

Unlike the previous BMW models with manual, the G generation does not consider the placement of the manual gear lever in the design process. To ensure a proper position of the shifter, BMW moves the i-drive controller back and I need to stretch my arm a little bit to reach it. Moreover, instead of the glossy black, manual model uses the base plastic to cover the area around the center controls.
But for a manual transmission, it is worth it! You can hear the gear clicking sound outside the car! This is so mechanical, sweet, and sensational! Many people complain the power loss compare with the competition model, but trust me, you won't notice the difference 95% of the time and no one buy a manual car in 2020 for breaking a race track record or 0-60. If you can get a manual, just buy it!
That's so awesome!

Thanks for the pics! Why do automakers insist on using photoshopped pictures that make the car look worse than it does in real life?

The horizontal strakes in the M3/4 grill help pull the front end design together compared with the regular 4 series. Still not loving the overall look, although the M3 works better than the M4.

At least we have a manual option available....
