At this point forget the looks .... RWD weighs 3900lbs!! And awd will be close to 4100LBS for BMW's sportiest model. The death of M is near. What a shame

SPY looks like a highlighter exploded on the design desk and they just went with it. Just like how they greenlit these kidney grills in the dark at 3 AM in a cave.

Agree with you, thus why no rear tire flaps due to the tire extending beyond the body, which the white G80 has.

I think people don't realize the strict set of rules car manufacturers have now. This is due to the laws for safety in different EU countries, which include the design of things like crumple zones or the height of the hood based on hitting a pedestrian with the highest survivability. You have the lines of the car which help with fuel economy to assist them with their emissions rules. Technology based safety internally which adds weight. These rules inevitably lead to similarity unfortunately.

Confused if the gloss black side skirts and carbon rear diffuser are exclusive to the Competition model. Will they be on the Core model as well or are those considered M Performance/added $$ ?

The gloss black is standard. You have to add the exterior carbon package to the car as an option. As far as I can tell, when I used the UK configurator, it was an option for the comp model too, so it is gloss black on both models as standard. I'm sure someone else will confirm or correct me.

Flausch said in the release video that basically everything can be configured for either car (including wheels) EXCEPT the black emblems for the comp and the chrome emblems for the base.

I look at this as a positive. To the discerning eye, everyone will know I drive stick.

Also, I'll know the stick drivers when I see them (and give them a thumbs up). I'll also know the 8AT drivers when I see them so I can avoid/ignore them...
