The shape of the headlight housing is just as bad as the grill. They don't look aggressive at all.

Grill doesn't bother me at all, I like it. Especially on the zoomed out shots, it fits nicely with the overall front end. Clearly more aggressive.

On the topic of the ACC sensor I actually don't mind it as much on a production gloss black grill, it blends in a bit more when the finish is the same as the grill around it (glossy lens on the sensor, glossy trim). On the mules running around with camo/preproduction matte grill finish it stands out a bit more. Obviously no changing that it's not symmetrical, I still want to understand why they didn't blend it into the grill treatment like on the standard 4 series but overall not a dealbreaker for me, especially considering in real life the sensor is shin high, not very prominent.

No matter how many times I force myself to like it, I just can't get over that front end. Does not look right for some reason.

Just not my cup of tea...

Considering the "Heritage" grills, it will be interesting to see the drag coefficient (Cd) number for the production car. I would also like to see an air flow diagram.

Could someone let the design team know that in many places in the world license plates are obligatory?

Spot on with my opinion too! The E90 just didn't do it for me except for the V8 but kept my e46 as the E90 fell way short comparatively. Love my F82 but I will always be fondly remembering my love affair with the E46.

I would also be upset if my state required a front plate.

USA plate looks so bad. Its just so bad, man, I mean can it be removed ?

I am sure there will be a grill fix for the car. Simple and elegant.

Yeah, Euro plate breaks it up nicely. Can't say that about the US plate, though.

Interesting, I disagree.

If one has to have a front plate (and I dislike front plates)... I like how the US plate is more fully and symmetrically contained within the grill design element. The US plate is surrounded by grill, The euro plate as you noted bisects it, cuts in half more pushing toward an obvious upper and lower portion.

I suspect those who generally dislike the whole grill design will prefer the euro plate as the aesthetic preference is to get as close to the old bmw look as possible

Looks absolutely stunning! I am sold on the grill and the rest of the design regardless of the hate... Never thought I will say it anytime soon but... good job BMW, my hat is off! 👍👏

Looking at where you put the US plate... I'm gonna bet that would interfere with the ACC sensor, especially with any sort of plate surround trim. May need to be mounted higher to avoid problems.

Dunno about that maybe slightly higher....Here is a US version mule testing with the US plate bracket (yes it has an euro plate, but the bracket is USA)

Is it immature of me to be frustrated by the number of people saying the G8x is growing on them?

I want BMW to learn their lesson on grill size so bad lol

Making a prediction here.
The G80/82 will sell. Maybe not as high numbers as F80/82, but it will be a number that BMW can accept and that's all it matters.

The reality is there are too many people in the world that must have the newest or latest. Nothing else matter to them.
Loan it, lease it, and 3 years later I'll get the next "newest", why should I care whether it looks good or not? As long as I have newest one, I will be fulfilled.
It's the same people that upgrade their iPhone every year regardless of whether there was noteworthy improvements or not.

Not everyone buys cars to keep for years. As a matter of fact, I'd say the ones that keep the classics for a long time are the minority and the majority will "down grade", look wise, from the F8x to G8x.

I wish to be proven wrong.

Yes it is.

Admittedly I consider the G8x M3/4 to be the Swinton/Cumbersnatch of current BMW's.

Not liking it

I love the Alfa Romeo Giulia but I hate the new M3/M4 front end.

This is waaaaay worse than the miscue of the mustache grilles from the pre-LCI E90. That was so minor compared to this. The rest of the lines on the E90 flowed and the car itself was and still is handsome. There is so much incoherence with the G22/G8X design that there is no easy fix. Its clear they copied all the design cues from Lexus/Infiniti/Audi and somehow thought it could just be blended together.
