I took my wife's Cayenne in for a service today and got given a Macan loan car.
It's been a while since I've driven a dual clutch equipped car and it immediately reminded me how much better it is than a ZF8.

If Porsche can put a dual clutch in a heavy AWD car why couldn't BMW apart from cost.

We have the ZF8 in the X4 M40i and the DCT in the F80. The DCT is streets better and I only ever drive in manual mode. The ZF8 'manual' switching in the X4 M40i is too slow for me and it never leaves auto as a result.

That's what I found as well.
I've had two DCT cars in the past (135i and e90 M3) and I drove them in manual 99% of the time because it was satisfying to do so.

I currently have a G21 330i and the ZF8 just isn't the same in manual mode so it just gets driven like a lazy auto.
