While I agree. Some can own a car ignoring a lot of things some can't.

I guess for me even the best driving impressions won't be strong enough to over come the other shortcomings.

Objectively, being this size and the projected weight, they'll have to do a lot of things to make this drive well.
I don't disagree. It won't be for everyone. The M2 is the new M3 for smaller/lighter cars with 6MT and RWD. G80 won't be perfect but just like when i bought my F80s... it was still the best thing going for my wants/needs. Every item that is compromised along the way is unfortunate though and it would def be nice to buy a car and just be totally in love with it ... even if it's not perfect.

I've also been to a "Closed Room". There was a G80 M3 Competition available in Isle of Man Green. It had the full M Performance Carbon kit on it. I Really liked the car and especially the carbon seats. Only thing I disliked was the "boxy" carbon diffuser.

BMW needed a different design. I'm not sure if I like this design but I'm with solstice BMW's have looked the same for over a decade. Change is needed.

With SUV's dominating the market and sedan sales shrinking and coupe sales shrinking even more they needed to have an in your face design. They have to differentiate it in the shrinking market.

Again I don't know if I will like it or not but I believe it was a good move

Did they happen to say anything about taking those cars to Indy next week? I'm hoping they are going to be there.

Well since that doesn't appear to be a current option I would like to see it in person.

I am bored by every BMW on the market right now and completely agree. The most exciting thing going on for me are the M8 Comp Wheels....

I am thoroughly bored of my CS and funnily enough, the grilles look ridiculously small to me lately haha.

Did someone confirm the side vents are non-functional?

I saw the G80 in Isle of Man Green at a UDE in NJ, and noted to the product rep that they appeared to not be functional, but he assured me they are 100% functional, and in fact are active, which I suppose explains why I couldn't see any daylight through them. I'm not sure what the benefit would be to close such a small vent in that location, but I'm sure they would have their reasons. I think I mentioned elsewhere this was the only useful information I was able to get out of the guy other than having him flip up the covers for the roof rack attachment points.

I suppose that's one of the details we'll get confirmation on next week.
