Only BMW could spec the non laser lights on a CSL, call them special, and up charge the cost over what the Lasers cost.

They probably weigh 60 grams less. Porsche would charge $15k for this kind of performance.

Looks like a Ti exhaust, too.

It is EXCELLENT to see the flagship cars coming out much earlier in the lifecycle.
I always felt the owners paying the most had the car 6 months before a platform change.

As long as we aren't forced to have a rollcage in the U.S. (like we were with the M4 GTS), then i'm all in. Also looks like there is decent enough ground clearance to use the car every day on street. |

Im going to go out on a limb, and guess that if the trunk has that much of a kick to it, without the use of a wing, that the entire trunk is probably carbon, and it should also go without saying, that the hood is probably carbon, as well.

WoW, putting a CSL badge on that land yacht is oxymoronic and antithetical to what it's suppose to mean..
But the fact of the matter is they'll sell every single unit 'cause consumers are vain and have more money than brains.. That has been proven this past year when I heard of folks paying up to $30,000 market adjustment for a Chevy because they want what they want and now! So, don't blame BMW; when you find a donkey, you ride that ass - all the way to the bank.. 😉 |

They stripped I think almost 200 lbs on the M5 CS? I'd have to imagine they can drop nearly 300 with a rear seat delete and other weight savings on a CSL. |

I love all the negativity on price and features about BMW special edition cars. Its a bimmerpost tradition.
There should be a place on BP to memorialize all the negative internet posts about the e46 M3 CSL, M2 CS, M5 CS, and this car. Keep em coming. |

I was thinking the same thing. If anything, the last few years should have taught us not to underestimate the M division and as BMW enthusiasts, we should be celebrating their achievements rather than disparaging their efforts. Lots of armchair engineers and executives on these forums but very few actually understand the legislative and commercial constraints facing these companies.

But it should be compared to recent cars and not the e46 M3 CSL (which wasn't considered that good during its own time, but is now a standard that is used to disparage recent M cars). |

I actually like the seats and grill but for something that suppose to be a "street legal racecar" when all they did is decontented an M4, double the price and make some bespoke cosmetic changes, doesn't pass the smell test, at least for me. But hey, no beef, if that's your cup of tea, more M power to you. 👍🏻 |
