Given your dissatisfaction with the wet surface handling and noise and the odd tire I'd replace all 4 tires with BMW sanctioned tires. Think these tires have a Star molded into the sidewall of the tire. (Porsche used an 'N'.)

While with other makes/models of cars I have had good experience with Pirelli tires and being able to compare them on the same car with Michelin tires you can certainly stay with Michelin tires. Don't fix what ain't broke...

My M2 came with Michelin tires and when the time comes I'll replace them with Michelin tires. (This even though just the rear tires alone will run $582.34/each or $1164.68 for the pair...) I prefer to not change brands -- even if the brand is sanctioned by the factory -- unless I have to.

Being the car is used after you get new tires fitted I'd have the car given a proper alignment.

Just came home from the tire shop after having my Michelins mounted. I needed to take the long way. O.M.G.
What a huge difference in noise level, vibration and traction. It’s a different car! Note: my old tires already had 12000miles, tread depth of about 4mm. Even when the car was brand new, I hated these tires.

They should never have delivered these cars with the pz4s!

100% agreed, it's a night and day difference. Michelins with 5000mi on them perform better than brand new Pirellis..
