This car wasn稚 designed from the ground up to have big ass grills.

I知 not a fan of the gigantic kidneys either but the arguments against are starting to get ridiculous.

The coffin grills don't look like a BMW. It looks more like an Alfa than a BMW. That's not a good thing.

This new design is not recognizable as a BMW except for the damn badge. That's dumb.
I知 old enough to remember the e60 M5 and the backlash that came with it. What Bangle and his team did was such an affront to our sensibilities that I ended up opting for the CLS63 instead.

I知 of the opinion that everyone (including me) were completely wrong about the e60 M5. Of course it痴 easy to say that now but back then the backlash was ugly.

BMW had to have that sort of revolution for us to get the cars we have today. This is that all over again. And this time I知 jumping in!

With a little bit of time this design will grow on us. And in 6 years you値l get your M8 styled evolution again

Tough to tell but it's actually the same bumper. In one pic where somebody brightened up the black/white one you can see that secondary splitter in the intake.

I agree. And they also managed to do that without that scar on the face called hood line... Go figure

The Bangle designs though still looked like BMWs, just kinda ugly BMWs.

There's almost no BMW in this new design.

The F8X series sold well, there was no reason to do this.

The sad thing, at least Bangle was original.

BMW has become a follower, following Lexus, Audi, Ford...with the oversized grills trend!

I don't see any resemblance whatsoever, but that Giulia is gorgeous and drives like a dream! Shame about the reliability and dealer network though.

I just hope that this new render, which looks better than what I've seen so far, doesn't raise our hopes too much.

I was recently in Munich doing some test drives and the Concept 4 at BMW Welt looks flat out amazing in person! I'm still getting used to the large grille and its shape, but I think blacked out it will look spectacular. I'm starting to come aboard.

But that's the concept, with no hood-line, big wheels, small mirrors and slim headlights and disregarding crash protection standards. Production model sadly won't look as good.

You know when journalists are starting to comment on the ADD design choices of BMW that we have an actual problem.

At least this new car is definitely recognizable--well, from the front. It's hideous enough to be impossible to mistake. The rear is just every new car, maybe more Lexus.
