Correction since e90/92
Correction, since the E46. Inline 6 engines are what bmw does best.

This could well be the M4, given the i4 and 4 leaks /concepts etc

I just can't understand how we then make the leap to suggest it's the M3?

Anyone explain? I'm lost

OP, do you know what kind of potato was used to take that photo?
Because if it was the baby red ones or the big red ones that are all goofy looking, it might explain the distorted image. If that's the case, then this is 100% real and not photoshopped. Please let us know.
Thanks

These aren't kidney grills, they drew inspirations from the human lungs instead for this M.

The S54 is a marvel of a production engine in the level of tune and reliability it balances. The S65 is not on the same level of racing tune but is a marvel of a V8 in $60k car anyway you look at it. All in all I don’t consider the S65 a downgrade and agree with the original comment that it is the peak and the last of the truly greats of M3 engines.

I don't think anyone considers the F8X "classic" in terms of driving experience. It is a technically capable car but many considered it to be a departure from classic BMW dynamics. That's why so many are excited to see what the G8x CLAR vehicles will be like.

If there's enough backlash, this might be the first M3 that people retrofit the base 3 series front end to.

I'm really really trying to like this. I'm trying to keep as open minded as possible. Thinking the details may make this truly spectacular. Or maybe it just needs dark colors to blend in more and dial out the crazy a bit. but jesus this looks horrible.

I wanna join the 'i hope its nothing like this' crowd. But i think we all have accepted by now this is probably it. I really wanted the G80 to replace my F80.. but I dunno. It looks like I'll be buying out my F80. Or jumping BMW ship altogether. Which honestly, I do NOT want to do.

E46 was a great car. But you can't forget the e90 m3 motor.

Could also be the i4...
Either way, seems like some executive got a bright idea looking at a pair of drop-in filters. Look familiar?
