You are looking at low quality pictures of pre-production test vehicles. In fact, it cannot even be determined with certainty that they are from two different vehicle form factors. There is no full vehicle picture.

The front ends are shared per insiders. The vehicle programs are built around a shared costing structure, just as in the past.

Geezus. This one is going to take a while to get used to. Because of its massive size, it looks like BMW intentionally attempted to dissociate the new grill design from the iconic kidney grill most people know BMW for in order to achieve a more bold look, but unfortunately it currently looks more like someone’s assprint on a scanner in myopinion

Nothing looks right that's why it's probably accurate. BMW can't design anything that looks good these days. Even the new badge is a step backwards

The loss of the DCT is the biggest issue for me, personally.

I'll wait for the official reviews, but it does appear the auto version is headed for more of a GT life.
