Good Lord.
Leave him out of this. It's simply a crappy render.

It looks sharp and well packaged to me. A lot of potential IMO. And I like it a little more watching all you whine about it.
You cry babies have been bitching about every new M model, if not every new BMW design in general, since the e60. It happens every. fucking. time. You guys do realize this right? In a couple years half of you will own one and totally forget how much you hated it at first. People don't like change, we get it. The f80/82 is what we picture when we think new m3/4, and they've grown on us and in our minds over the years and look so great, it's hard to imagine such a radical change to it. But it's progress forward. The designers don't just pull this out of their ass and run with it. They make prototypes, full clay models, dozens of variants and stare at them for hours from every angle to ensure they feel right. I guarantee a few months after the official release, once the shock factor wears off and the design starts to sink and grow on you, almost all of you will come around. Just like last time. And the time before that. If enthusiasts had it our way we would rarely change shit and every new BMW would still look like an e30. And while that would actually be pretty sick (see?), BMW would've went bankrupt by 1996 with that strategy and we wouldn't have anything. So deal with it, open your mind, and put a little faith in the designers at BMW because IMO as stupid or crazy as anything's ever been at first, it's always worked out especially for the M3/4/5. Hell I even the bangled ass e60 M5 ended up not being so bad in the end :rofl |

The same front end will be shared across both models. The only styling differences that we’ll see in the production cars will be between the base model and the Competition model.

Finally saving on depreciation FTW
![]() I'm very disappointed to say, no desire here to buy the new M3/M4 with this face. Paid up for new on E92, F80 and F87 but those cars had great looks and proportions = mad showroom pull. |

Where did you get that 90% figure from? It might be better to just say something like "I'm willing to bet that the majority of m3 owners don't track their cars." This way you're not using definitive figures without reference, and you don't have to worry about using the inequality sign incorrectly.

There are no definitive statistics for something this specific. But it doesn't take a genius to extrapolate: 1- it's a 4 door sedan with almost as many convenience features as an S class. 2- it's meant for the road first, track second. 3- even those that do track it, most go once or twice a year average. Still not justifying a hideous car. 4- its competitors are the RS4/5, C63, Quadrifoglio. 5- other competitors managed to design beautiful cars while focusing on performance, including BMW (M8). 6- owners that track their cars are commonly enthusiasts, which are most likely forum members. So you can most likely gauge the percentage of owners that track the car just from this forum. 7- if you like the design, that's great. But most on here do not and you need to respect that. If you don't want negative feedback then don't post shit on a PUBLIC forum.

While I really hate the new look, I suspect we'll get used to the big grill. When did Audi move to the big schnoz...2007? I remember hating it initially then somehow owned a 2013 S4.

I think the F80 and F82 are among the most beautiful of cars ever designed.
I've never liked large grills. I've hated the Lexus grill for years. I've hated Toyota grills. Don't care for Audi grills. Yuck. It's an unsightly fashion trend. Like platform shoes for women - how did they ever get popular again? Designers can lose their way. It happened to Jony Ive from Apple - it can certainly happen to BMW. I've not been happy with the growing grills of the X3/5/7, but they grew moderately. So I can live with it (I have an X3 M40i). My initial reaction when seeing this G80/G82 grill is horror and disgust. BMW taking design cues from the cars I hate most? Perhaps the license plate stuck over the middle of the giant grill will mitigate it. Perhaps the official production version will be better. Perhaps I'll grow to like it. |

I think the look will definitely grow on people, like most new BMW's. Also, depending on colour it could actually look really good.
