Any idea what is below the center of the driver dash display? I have these little blue boxes with double dashes. I’ve cycled through the display options but nothing changes it… just seems weird, like it should be displaying some information. Can’t figure it out. ID8 has been a bit of an adjustment. My only complaints are the squealing brakes (absolutely drives me insane) and the curved dash. I love the brightness and clarity, but it definitely takes away the cockpit feel expected of a performance car. |

Congrats on finally getting the car! Looks beautiful. Doesn't feel like too long ago we were sweating wait times at the port.

Hahaha…thats so true. Part of me missed the constant checking of mygarage and wondering when the car is gonna get on a ship. The best part was tacking the ship and following it so closely. Now that the car is here, its almost like the anticlimax. Im reading the other ship tracking threads and living vicariously through them…lol. The whole PCD thing went by so fast that Im still in awe that the car is here with me and that I get to see it and drive it often. How has ur experience been ?

Congrats on your car. QQ from me about temp plates.
Beautiful build, and great write up. I’m doing PCD next week and have a bit of a silly question regarding temp plates. I’m in NJ, and the my dealership gave me a single temp plate to put on the rear of the car. Does PCD put on the temp plate for you, or do I have to fly down with a screwdriver?
Can’t wait to experience this new way of taking delivery of a new car. TIA. |

Did you book with them after delivery, or is there a process to have this done before you arrive? Might be wishful thinking, but I didn’t want to make any assumptions. TIA

I worked with them to give them a heads up that we'd have 2 M3 CSs arrive and need PPF, Tint, and Ceramic Coating. We got quotes months before delivery. I updated them as soon as the cars got on a boat and then when we received the PCD date, we officially booked the appointment. Took the cars over right after delivery.

You have to call ahead and set up a time to take your car in. Sometimes they have openings on the same day you pick up the car, most of the times its usually 1-2 days after and it takes like 1-1.5 days to do the PPF depending on what you want. So if they are really busy they might not have any openings so its better to call soon once you know when your PCD date it.

Yeah, I figured as there is too much liability there.

I also scheduled with Extreme Colors Auto Spa after some research. They seem like good folks and Xpel warranty is good at my local detailer. They have other BMWs on the website.
