Quoted 8-15k for individual paint?

I was considering going with frozen dark grey, but then my dealer quoted me 8-15k. I've never heard a price like that before... what do, bros?

Is that the P67 color, the one on the KITH cars? Amazing color. 8-15K does not sound correct.

BMW has an approved list of individual paints and that costs $4500. When paired with 50th anniversary emblems, you get a $750 discount. Not sure if FDG is a part of BMWs current paint list.

My understanding is frozen dark grey is no longer an option for the G80 platform for model year 23.

8-15 is quite a range. It sounds like the dealer is making stuff up. Most dealers will tell you a definite price. I would find another dealer

I paid 3900 cad for individual paint on my June 2022 build. I had 7000 in my original invoice as a placeholder and was surprised it came in so low. Worth every penny.

You're getting ripped off at that point. $4,500 for an approved individual paint.

I believe it's $7,500 if they have to develop the paint specifically for you and hasn't been done before.

It's $10,000+ for the Pure Metal Silver which is BMW's most expensive.

You should shop that purchase around. As others have said, those prices are crazy or perhaps the dealer has never ordered individual paint before? I'm on my second individual car (see my sig) and they were $4500 and $4750. Not sure if the frozen colors are any more expensive, but most definitely not $10k more expensive.

Just tell your dealer you'll only pay window sticker for the price of the individual paint. Their ignorance or greed will not affect you that way.

Frozen Dark Gray has been discontinued. You could do Frozen Black, or Frozen Pure Gray, it's a tad lighter (it's frozen Skyscraper Gray). Here's a link:

50th anniversary pricing is $3,750. Otherwise it's around $4,500. I believe $3,750 applies to MY23.

I didn't even mention the color. I just generally asked what any individual color would cost and he said 8-15k.

That's completely wrong since both my dealers were in line under $4k Canadian.

If they are trying to screw you at this stage, imagine what else they have in store for you as the build moves along.

Run, don't walk away from this dealer.

It might be a sign that you might see more shady things if you proceed or your CA never had any experience with individual order. You might be able to judge the CA with a few more conversations but i would proceed with caution.

So the owner can say that they have the most expensive paint job BMW sells, with a haughty laugh of course.

And it's almost like they're blind...never seem to see everyone else's eyes roll.
