Well I've done it...

After thinking about it for a long time, and considering keeping my current 540i for a while longer, I found a deal I couldn't resist on an M4.

Found a slightly used model at my local dealer - 8 months old, 3,000 on the clock (not a demo model either), and it was £23,000 less than list price. Spec is Brooklyn Grey with Silverstone/black interior, visibility pack, comfort pack, so I am pretty pleased with that find!

I pick it up on Monday!

First off, congrats! But secondly, and pardon my ignorance, but are you saying it was $23,000 pounds (which equates to about $28K USD) off of MSRP... or had it been marked up and now it is $23K less than the mark up price? If it is effectively $28K USD off of MSRP and only 8 months old with low mileage, that is some epic depreciation. I'm imagining a used 2022 M4 with 3K on the odometer being listed at my local dealership for sub $60K. That is suspiciously low. I hope you found the best deal on earth and this isn't a sign of where the market is headed.

Yes - its a genuine £23,000 off, list would be £87k here in the UK and I have paid £64k. I will inspect it fully and know the dealership very well indeed so I know they are reputable having dealt with them for 10+ years.

That's a fantastic find by you if it all checks out. Maybe it's the cynic in me, but I don't know that I could even recognize a good deal anymore without becoming immediately suspicious. Nor can I imagine a dealership that isn't trying to extract every bit of profit out of thr next buyer. It's possible that they took the vehicle in as a trade and the previous owner took a low offer, and now they're passing that on to a loyal customer. That would be nice. I'm just so cynical I can't imagine a dealership doing that.

Yeah; $23,000 off is basically hitting the lottery.

Did you give them the 540i for free?

Discounts on this side of the pond are much steeper. There's a 2022 ultimate pack car with a list price of £92,395 for sale at £63,990 as an example.

You got the deal of a century!
Thanks - not long to wait now... I will make sure I check it fully before I drive off! But really can't wait to get behind the wheel!
