I wonder for pre-this-version-of-LCI
They will release a M performance software upgrade to get this power levels.

I’m not sure a few extra ponies were the reason to buy one. In any case, simple unlock & tune will have any of these models 600+ hp anyway. Mines probably ~700 and it ain’t no CS. Small power bump on the comp models is only a good thing imo.

Simple unlock?! Doesn’t unlocking require you to send your ecu to Ukraine or something similar?

I wouldn't go that far but I would say that the CS looks like worse value than the CSL (especially in the UK, where spec for spec they are exactly the same price).

I was literally going to confirm spec with my dealer today for a M3 Comp Xdrive. I guess that’s a very modern problem - there’s always going to be a slightly better version on the horizon - do you wait or just get something now?!

Finland, but yeah it was simple as pie. Less than a week start to finish and around $1k including shipping iirc. Only takes a few minutes to pull your DME out.

The facelift was not the facelift we had hoped for.

If not, yeah the CS will look obsolete after the LCI refresh. There is also possibly an LCI CS as well rumored. |

Yeah people would pay... Drop it in the M2, Supra ...charge a reasonable fee of 2-3k for it. Manual lives on and cost would be covered by the buyers. Just over build the tranny for those that tune. |

I take the extra 20 ponies and keep my warranty intact. not to mention risk damaging something with a tune. I guess you pay to play...to each their own.

Do you really think it’s gonna make a big difference? 20hp? You can pretty much be assured that if you do a 20hp tune on your own, it’s not going to break anything and you won’t have to pay BMW another $3k. |

That depends on your definition of better. By 2030 better might be fully electric.

All these year to year changes and price increases are getting pretty annoying. Especially as somebody who ordered a 2022 M4 around this time last year, ended up with a 2023 that came with a significant price increase and no other changes except the shit that they removed/skimped on, and then seeing them come out with a 2024 model year mere months after the fact with the iDrive8, and then now a facelift planned for next year with a power increase..BMW, f*ck you and get your sh!t together.

I wonder if this means they are adding the 48V mild hybrid to the M3. If so, I’d prefer not to have that for long term reliability.
The did add this to the new X5M. |
