Who Remembers

Anyone remember around this time last year when people were freaking about carbon fiber roofs being deleted because of production issues 😂

Do you guys have any other stories of rumors and random tales on the forums that snowballed?

I remember when a lot of forum members proclaimed that the cars were so ugly that no one would buy them - they would just sit on car lots with heavy discounts.

I always get a good laugh out of this. My dad was a big Porsche guy (Carrera), he always loved his current generation and griped about the new one until he bought it. 😂

I’m hoping it is! My 6MT hit production about a week ago, and it is already in quality check. Faster than I expected!

You could get kicked off this forum for saying the car was ugly. Ohhh wait that actually happened.

Well, there was definitely a delay on 6MT models (by as many as 20 build weeks) back around this time last year (Spring 2022). I remember a guy here who said his 6MT (and several other 6MT orders on here) with originally scheduled build weeks around 8 to 16 (2022) got pushed back several times - some into June (weeks 23-26) and some into the 2023 model year (began around week 27).

They ruled out carbon buckets as the cause (most didn’t have them), individual colors, and the wiring harness shortage, as M3/4 Comp models with identical options (other than the transmission of course) got built close to their scheduled build weeks but 6MTs kept getting pushed back.

Haven’t heard anything about 6MT delays lately but maybe someone else knows more about the current situation.

FWIW, my 2023 M3 6MT (IOMG, no carbon buckets) had a scheduled build week 31 and was built as scheduled, on time, came with the touch controller and IDrive 8.

BMW can’t get away without including touch screens anymore (IDrive 8 requires it)

I think the biggest was in the I4 forum
DAPP - Not available to anyone and then changed to only I4M50
Front Passenger power seat delete
Handsfree tailgate removed - also for M3/M4
No touchpad on Idrive controller - also for M3/M4

Rumors that had some truth for M3
-Fiona Red and KO CB
-Wireless Charging
-Esim
-DAPP
-6MT or individual color
-Lack of storage at Bremehaven and lack of enough ships

Im glad, I dont have to go through this again for atleast 3-5 yrs !!!

I said it was ugly, and I wasn't kicked off. It was when users started being self-entitled trolls about it that they got banned.
